Hi blog readers! It’s me, Donna, and I’m back with my second magazine blog! For those of you who missed my first blog, did you know that in addition to shopping at PCH for fantastic merchandise at low, low prices, Publishers Clearing House also has dozens of terrific magazine deals? Last weekend I was fishing with my husband on the Salmon River in up in Pulaski, NY, which is known for their famous Steelhead Trout.  We had a great day and brought home three beautiful fish, which we ate for dinner all week.  Fishing in the great outdoors reminded me of all the incredible outdoor magazine titles we have at PCH, such as Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, Backpacker, and Bassmaster.  You’ll find them under the “Men’s Interests” and “Auto and Sports” tabs on our magazine site.  If you’re more of an off-road enthusiast, you can also find titles like 4 Wheel & Off Road. What It’s Like To Work At Publishers Clearing House!

Hello everyone!!

My name is Alyssa, and I am interning in the Promotion Development department at Publishers Clearing House…actually I’m reporting to someone you all know – Danielle Lam of the PCH Prize Patrol!  As my first week as an intern at Publishers Clearing House comes to an end, all I can think about is how exciting and eventful my summer is going to be. I have to say that I was a little nervous on my first day, but as soon as I walked through the doors of PCH, everyone was very welcoming and very excited for me to begin my internship experience.

I only knew of PCH as the company that shows up to people’s doors with big checks and balloons, but since I started, I have learned so much more about what this company does.  So far, I have been focusing on helping out the Prize Patrol! I have already begun analyzing video clips from different news channels across the country and national TV Shows that mention PCH.  I’m also helping Danielle put together a report of these mentions…it’s a cool task!

However, my favorite day so far was my second day! I got the opportunity to go with Danielle and Laura to present a Big Check…something people only dream about being able to do! I was so excited when Danielle invited me to come and could not believe that only on my second day I would be out on the field surprising someone! This award was part of the Mutt-i-grees America Adopts PSA contest. The check was delivered to a school that submitted a PSA video on why people should adopt a mutt-i-gree. The video was very inspirational and gave a lot of facts about why people should adopt animals. Because of their amazing video, the school was able to win first place in their age group and a $2,500 grant. I was so happy to be a part of the surprise!

The looks on the student’s faces when Laura and I walked into the room with the Big Check, balloons and flowers were so funny…everyone was just in shock! Before we walked in, they thought they were attending an assembly about bullying…boy were they shocked when they realized it was something so wonderful!! I hope that I will be able to experience another trip with the Prize Patrol…who knows…it could even be one of YOU reading this blog if you enter the sweepstakes!

I have always wanted a job where I would be able to help and meet people from all over the country and Publishers Clearing House definitely does that.

I look forward to filling you all in on my internship experience this summer. One of the most important things that I have learned is how REAL PCH is. Real people win the sweepstakes, and it takes a lot of PCH employees and a lot of work to make those sweepstakes come to life.

PCH’S MAD MEN PRIZE PATROL’ERS WANT YOU TO WIN

Well, Season 6 of AMC’s “Mad Men” series is officially off to a buzz-creating start. While the show’s creators are understandably cagey about a lot of questions like “Will he or won’t he?” or ‘Will they or won’t they?” or “What will happen at the Sterling Cooper ad agency?,” they have revealed that Season 7 will be their last.

But there are at least two “mad men” who have no intention of calling it quits.  Let me explain.

You might recall from previous PCH blogs that two of the Prize Patrol’s founders are “mad men.”  How so?  Because over the years Todd Sloane and yours truly Dave Sayer spent a lot of time on Madison Avenue, the legendary birthplace of thousands of ad campaigns.  Indeed, we were working with our major New York ad agency twenty-five years ago when Todd came up with the idea of notifying PCH Sweepstakes winners of their good fortune in person (via the Prize Patrol) rather than through phone calls.

So even though “Mad Men” won’t continue past Season 7, there’s one thing you can count on: The PCH Prize Patrol will continue awarding prizes worth thousands, even millions of dollars to real people — like you — for years to come.  In fact nothing would make me happier than making every one of you blog readers out there a winner in the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes.  Of course I can’t promise that the Prize Patrol will come knocking on your door.  All I can promise is that if you don’t enter you can’t win.

Where Does the PCH Prize Patrol Award Prizes? Everywhere!

All of us at PCH are always SO excited to hear from great people like YOU! One of the things we love doing is answering your questions, so today I’m going to answer a question that we get A LOT. Where does PCH Prize Patrol go to give out our AMAZING prizes? The answer is simple: WE GO EVERYWHERE!

A lot of people think that PCH only goes to certain types of homes but I’m here to tell you that that just ISN’T TRUE! Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol travels to all types of locations to reach its winners and our big winners are always randomly selected! To prove it, let’s take a trip back in time to prove that PCH comes to you wherever you are!

Back in August of 2012, history was made when PCH awarded its FIRST $5,000 A Week “Forever” Prize to John Wylie of White City, Oregon. The lucky winner John Wylie was from a mobile estate community proving that it doesn’t matter where you live, the Prize Patrol will come to you wherever you are!

Because of her PCH prize, Stephanie no longer had to give up her dream home!
