Who Won the PCH Thanksgiving Prize?

An Iowan Has Something to Be Extra Thankful for This Year

When I wrote a blog last week about our Thanksgiving prize, I was not yet at liberty to divulge the winner’s name and location. Now I am!

But why should I write something when the local newspaper in Muscatine, Iowa, did such a great job of telling the story of Kirk Edwards’ winning moment? Just click on this link to read all about it and see a picture of the stunned Publishers Clearing House winner and his happy family.

http://www.muscatinejournal.com/articles/2009/11/25/news/doc4b0d5526616b3282221560.txt

While your Thanksgiving may not have had the excitement of this lucky family in Iowa, we hope it was a blessed one as well.

As you will see, there was at least one skeptic who thought Kirk shouldn’t bother entering our contests and sweepstakes. But he persisted and entered every chance he got. So why not do what Kirk did? Enter the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. It’s easy at pch.com, and you could be lucky too.

Now that the holiday season is off to its official start, did you know that you can also do some great shopping at pch.com? We have an eye-popping array of value-priced merchandise and discounted magazines which are easy on your wallet and make wonderful gifts for just about anybody on your list.

All the best!

My cousin recieved a phone call from someone I believe that was supposed to be from PCH saying he won $48,000.00. I believe this to be a scam and wanted you to be aware of this. His name is Thomas Cummins from Newport, Ky. He notified the proper authorities pertaining to this matter. However if this is true and he did win please notify me by email so that I can let him know. There were two people that called and is requesting that he send the amount of taxes due on the winnings somewhere. Please advise. Thank You

The phone call you described, claiming your cousin won $48,000, was NOT from Publishers Clearing House. There is no one named Thomas Cummins who is in any way affiliated with Publishers Clearing House.
Please beware that there are some fraudulent operators that call people, pretend they won a prize, and then con them into sending money for “prepayment of taxes” or some other fake reason. These offers are NOT legitimate. You should NEVER send money to collect prize winnings.

Hi Martha,
Please note an online entry is verified on the last page of the entry process. Keep your eyes open for the page that says “Processing Entry” or “Information Authentication”. After your entry is processed, you may be redirected to a non-PCH advertisement which may be of interest to you.
No purchase is ever necessary to enter or win. Your chances of winning without a purchase are the same as the chances of someone who buys something. It would not be lawful to give any advantage to buyers in a Sweepstakes.

I do often wonder if anyone every truly wins or not myself. I’ve entered every one of these things for years – on each one sent, both with orders and without……nothing. Yet you don’t hear of any others either. I did receive notice someone in my area with my initials won. I’m nowhere near Iowa?
sighs….
