Miami Area Woman Announced as New Publishers Clearing House SuperPrize Winner
A Super Day – With a SuperPrize for a Super Winner in a Super City!
Just weeks after the Super Bowl in Miami, another SUPER event happened in that super city — on Thursday, February 25th. When the day was over Marilyn Ragin was as supremely happy as the Indianapolis Colts on Super Bowl Sunday. The reason? Publishers Clearing House announced that she is the newest Million Dollar SuperPrize winner!
Our caravan of vehicles – including the Prize Patrol van, a second Prize Patrol car, a satellite truck, and vans holding our cameraman AND crews from CBS, FOX and The Learning Channel’s “Lottery Changed My Life” show – all rolled to a stop in front of the Ragins’ sunny yellow house. Everyone piled out and up to the door – but, alas, Marilyn wasn’t home. “She’s not here,” her husband Moses told us. “But I know where she is.”
With that our whole caravan drove several miles to the Ragins’ church where Marilyn’s large group of sewing circle friends was having a special luncheon. I’ve gotta tell you: the luncheon became a lot more special when we marched in – in our blue PCH Prize Patrol blazers with a huge bouquet of roses, rainbow colored balloons, video cameras, blazing movie lights AND the Big Check. Women started screaming, children in attendance jumped up hoping to get a balloon. Everyone stopped eating as their mouths fell open in amazement.
“We’re looking for Marilyn!” I announced for all to hear. There was a momentary silence as all eyes turned toward the middle of the room where a woman who was clearly well-known and beloved by all stood up. Her arms went up in the air in praise as she recognized that her prayers had been answered. Then pandemonium broke loose. Several people said to us, “I’ve seen this PCH winning moments on TV, but I never thought it was real!” Others recognized me personally and said, “Well, I never expected to see you in person like this!”
Marilyn was simply overwhelmed as she greeted well-wishers and media reporters with “Hallelujahs” and tearful expressions of thanks for answers to her prayers. Moses stood nearby in a happy daze. Excited cell phone calls were made. Before long daughter Darlene arrived, and more screams and tears followed. All in all it was an event that nobody present will ever forget. You can get a sense of it all by watching the video at PCHTV.com and reading more about it in the About.com: Contests and Sweepstakes article entitled “Publishers Clearing House Announces their Newest Million-Dollar Winner!”
As reported in a CBS news article, about this cash sweepstakes prize award, Marilyn Ragin is 53 years old and has played the PCH Sweepstakes for over 10 years. By the reaction of prize witnesses at the sewing circle luncheon who declared they were now believers too, there may be some more Miami area residents filling out a PCH Sweepstakes entry in the future, hoping to be announced a new Publishers Clearing House SuperPrize Winner – just like Marilyn.
