Common Publishers Clearing House FAQs Answered

A common FAQ or Frequently Asked Questions that I see on the Publishers Clearing House Facebook Fan Page is, “What if I’m not home when you arrive?”

Rest assured, the Prize Patrol will do everything that it can to find you!

When I won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes SuperPrize in 2008, it was a work day for me. I went to my place of employment like normal, not knowing that the Prize Patrol would be knocking on my door a few hours later. It was probably the best day I’ve ever had at work! A few days after the win, I was able to go to PCHTV.com to see what the PCH Prize Patrol did to track me down. After trying my home, they started searching for me online and found my former employer. Thank goodness for the internet. Even if they hadn’t been able to find me, my family was just a few doors down.

Something similar happened when I headed to Miami with the PCH Prize Patrol to pass along another SuperPrize in February. Luckily, our newest winner’s husband was home to take us to her. In March, the PCH Prize Patrol patiently waited for the St. Patrick’s Day winner to return home from visiting friends.

Another question I see is, “Will you ever visit my town?” or, “Why haven’t you ever delivered a prize to my state?”

As much as we’d all like to visit Hawaii, the drawings are random. Keep on entering!

The third question that came up, especially during a major prize event, “Why haven’t you announced the winner of the current contest?”

Unfortunately, sometimes a winning number was not submitted in time or at all. In some cases, an alternate winner will be picked, provided that number has been turned in on time. I was an alternate winner! My persistence in entering definitely paid off. Hopefully yours will as well.

Hi, you keep sending me a bill for $30.46, I sent you a check dated 4/25/12. It has never been deducted from my account. Will you please investigate this to see where that check went? This is the second time this has happened to me. Thanks

    1. Victoria At PCH Victoria At PCH says:

      Hi Tyene,

It may be that you have received an entry for the chance to win $25,000.00 and that you need to send the entry back for your chance to win. To make sure that this is correct, you can give us a call at our toll-free number: 1-800-645-9242.

If I win how will I be notified?
I received several e-mail from a Mr. Jose Mark saying he is the Claims officer with PCH and that I have won $10 mill. and to contact an Elite Couriers in the UK a Mr. Kelly Ray. Is ligit or is it a scam?

    1. PCH Customer Service PCH Customer Service says:

      Hello Sharon,

The notification you have received is in fact a scam illegally using our good name in attempt to build trust and deceive. You have not won a prize from the real Publishers Clearing House and you should not send any money.

At Publishers Clearing House the winning is always free and we would never require any money, tax, fee or payment be made to collect a prize. Winners of $500.00 or more from the real Publishers Clearing House are notified by registered mail and winners of $10,000 or more would be notified in person by our famous Prize Patrol with no advance notice.

Anyone who believes they have been the victim of a fraudulent contact using the name of Publishers Clearing House, may contact us immediately at our toll-free number 1-800-392-4190 and anyone who believes they have received a suspicious email using our name and logo, may forward it to our fraud reporting mailbox, abuse@pch.com. We also encourage consumers to visit the Consumer Affairs section on our website at info.pch.com, where there is more valuable information on how to protect oneself and avoid falling victim to sweepstakes scams.

      Hope this helps!
