Veronica Trombino: A look at the Newest Publishers Clearing House Winner

Publishers Clearing House Winner Veronica Trombino is the gracious nurse who won $10,000 from the 2011 Publishers Clearing House St. Patrick’s Day Sweepstakes. Dave Sayer wrote about his experience awarding the Publishers Clearing House winner with $10,000 in another PCH blog post, but I thought it would be great for you PCHers to get to know more about Veronica Trombino: straight from Veronica Trombino herself!

Although Veronica Trombino “absolutely never thought” she would win, she simply entered the $10,000 St. Patrick’s Day Sweepstakes, and actually won! I remember that day Danielle Lam from the Prize Patrol told us at the PCH headquarters that finding Veronica Trombino was a bit of a struggle; but seeing her reaction was well worth it. As Dave Sayer approached Veronica, he noted that she looked at him peculiarly. Now that she has metaphorically “picked her jaw off the floor” Veronica explained that she “was totally shocked…it seemed so surreal…I could not believe Dave Sayer and the Prize Patrol were standing in front of me. I thought it was a dream.”

Along with the patients in the waiting room, Veronica Trombino says that her friends and relatives “are all shocked and could not believe someone they know actually won the PCH award.”  Now that there is evidence of Publishers Clearing House prizes being “real” Veronical Trombino commented “Now everyone is entering online…I made them all believers!”

In addition to making people believe Publishers Clearing House is most certainly real, another question most of us have for the PCH winner is what exactly she will do with her Big Sweepstakes Prize. Veronica stated; “Pay some very important bills that I was concerned about and help my family. Thank you so much!”

I showed everyone my $25 check I received from PCH, and some replied, “That little check? Nobody ever win the big ones around here”. I said, “minuscule it my be, but for me, this is gas for a week”.

    Hi Hannah,

That definitely seems like a scam! At Publishers Clearing House we do not notify our winners by telephone, by email or by regular postal mail. All prize winners of $500.00 or more would be notified by registered mail and all winners of $10,000 or more would be notified in person by our famous Prize Patrol.

Remember the winning at PCH is always free and no purchase or fee is ever necessary! At Publishers Clearing House, we treat the fraudulent use of our name seriously. We keep track of these incidents and work closely with the law enforcement and consumer protection community to share this information. We recommend that you also report this incident to the National Fraud Center at http://www.fraud.org

Anyone who believes they have been the victim of a fraudulent contact using the name of Publishers Clearing House, may contact us immediately at our toll-free number 1-800-645-9242. Anyone who believes they have received a suspicious email using our name and logo, may forward it to our fraud reporting mailbox, abuse@pch.com. We also encourage consumers to visit the Consumer Affairs section on our website at info.pch.com, where there is more valuable information on how to protect oneself and avoid falling victim to sweepstakes scams.

    Stay Safe!

Meeting Veronica and her coworkers was an absolutely wonderful experience. They were not only shocked, but extremely kind. Veronica actually gave Dave Sayer and I calendars and pens of the doctor’s office – HOW SWEET! I hope you all enjoyed learning more about Veronica…I certainly did!

GodBless to that winner, I am hoping that I am the next winner. I would be so delightful if I won I would even donate to the the people that had lost their homes, and especially their children. And I could live in a closer with my boyfriend and our family When that day comes about. You see I have never been married nor have I never had children. And we could go on a trip to Hawaii bring our children with us when that time happens. ThankYou marynh89
