Publishers Clearing House: Numbers You Can Count On!

Publishers Clearing House has numbers you can count on! One, two, three…that’s nothing compared to the types of numbers we’re talking about. Really BIG numbers, that’s what we like. How about 500, 1000, 5000? Not big enough, you say? Well, what about 10,000? Now, what if we threw 1,000,000 or 10,000,000 into the mix? Those are some mighty huge numbers! What’s even better is that they represent dollar amounts of money that Publishers Clearing House has awarded to sweepstakes and contest winners over the years! To be exact, over $226 million dollars, since 1967, has been awarded. Now that’s some whopping huge numbers for you!

Numbers, numbers, numbers…hmmm…got me thinking…so I did a little internet searching about numbers – using PCHSearch&Win, of course. (That’s http://search.pch.com/ where you could win prizes instantly simply for searching.) Lo and behold…I found some information about numbers right on one of our PCH sites. PCHlotto has a section called “By the Numbers” with “Fun Facts About Numbers.” I read a lot of interesting and fun number facts I never knew. So, I thought I would take this opportunity to share a few with you.

Number 4:   We all know the word “four” has four letters. But, did you know in the English language, 4 is the only number whose number of letters is equal to its value?

Number 41:  For all you Beatlemaniacs out there – Did you know that in The Beatles number 1 hit song, “Let It Be,” Paul McCartney sings that same phrase 41 times? Don’t believe us? Count for yourself. If we’re wrong, let us know.

Number 29:  The human skull has 29 bones. Who knew? Did you? It’s also a prime number, which means it’s only divisible by itself and 1. But, don’t ask me what a prime number means – I’m only writing fun facts here…Ha! Ha!

Number 33:  Here are a few interesting tidbits… British people eat 33 million turkeys each year, 33% of the Earth’s surface is desert, Ground Hog Day occurs on the 33rd day of the year and, for all you baseball aficionados, the longest baseball game lasted 33 innings! Wow! And, it took two days! Do you know what teams played or when it happened? Let us know – I’d like to know, too! Leave your response in the comment section below. Hint: Use search.pch.com to find out the answer to this question, or any question you may have – you could even win a prize instantly!

You can read more Fun Facts About Numbers on PCHlotto.com. While you’re there, make sure to play a few cards. All you have to do is pick some numbers, or we could do it for you with a quick pick.
