PCH Employees Help Feed The Hungry!

When folks see the Publishers Clearing House van pull up, they get see visions of winning a millionaire-making SuperPrize(R).

On Monday, November 21st, people got excited for a different reason when they saw Publishers Clearing House pull up to the door.

That’s the day PCH delivered all the produce, canned goods, and food stuffs collected during this year’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

To help feed the hungry, Publishers Clearing House worked with Twin Pines, a local charity in Port Washington, New York, that distributes food to several local not-for-profit organizations including youth programs, group homes & more. Twin Pines trucks go out five days a week and feed over 3,000 people annually!

From November 7th through November 18th, Publishers Clearing House employees collected:

  • Canned Vegetables
  • Canned Fruit
  • Pasta & Noodles
  • Canned Soups
  • Flour
  • Baby Food
  • Hot & Cold Cereals
  • Rice
  • and more

Twin Pines is happy to report that this year’s food drive was one of the most successful in its history with Publishers Clearing House. But that’s only phase one of how PCH is looking to help feed the hungry! And it starts with a long-standing Publishers Clearing House Thanksgiving tradition.

For years, Publishers Clearing House has given employees Thanksgiving turkeys to help make the holiday merry. (Actually now, instead of turkeys, PCH gives employees supermarket gift cards to go towards those holiday birds.)  Many employees, though, donate those gift cards and company officials will use the proceeds to purchase more food for the hungry. So Publishers Clearing House will have the pleasure of soon delivering hundreds of dollars of additional food items to Twin Pines to help more families!

Yes, Thanksgiving is a time to eat, enjoy time with family … and then eat some more! But it’s also time to count the reasons we should be grateful for whatever blessings have been given to us. One blessing I’m grateful for are those small opportunities to help our neighbors. Because it’s those small acts of kindness that could mean more than we could possibly imagine!

Right now you can put a smile on all our readers’ faces by sharing some small act of kindness that you performed or was done for you!
