Pet Lovers Share Stories and Photos

One thing pet lovers love to do is share stories and photos of their furry or feathered friends.  If you want to see someone’s face light up, just ask him or her about their pet and soon they will be talking non-stop.  Even a complete stranger will proudly show you photos of a beloved dog, cat, bunny or bird.

PCH is pleased to sponsor an event that’s sure to delight pet lovers and others, too!  It’s the New Yorkie Runway doggie fashion show scheduled to take place on Friday, February 10th.  Celebrities and their canines will strut their stuff with fashionable dog outfits and accessories for an evening full of fun entertainment.  And a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the therapy dog charity called Angel On A Leash.  Our very own Danielle Lam from the Prize Patrol will be there, too, with Grizzly, her stylish Yorkie.

In addition, the one talented pooch who wins this year’s “American Idol” style doggie auditions and competition will get to walk the runway, too.  If you haven’t yet watched the dog audition videos or cast your vote for your favorite dog, please go to http://www.newyorkierunway.com/vote/ to do so before the February 3rd deadline.

Could this get any better?  We think so, because YOU CAN WATCH IT ALL UNFOLD LIVE on streaming video on the PCH Facebook Fan Page!  Which cute canine will win the most votes?  Will a brand new Prize Patrol mascot debut?  What other laughs and surprises will there be?  Tune in to PCH Facebook at 7:00 pm EST on Friday, 2/10/12, to see for yourself!

In the meantime, dear pet lovers, we invite you to share stories of YOUR furry or feathered friends, so please share them with us in PCH Blog comments and on Facebook!  Since I, too, am a pet lover, I’ll start the sharing.  Here is a photo of our adorable Min Pin (Miniature Pinscher) named “Pony” dressed in one of her numerous fashionable dog outfits.

PAW-some, don’t you think?  Pony has lots of personality and gives us many laughs.  One of her favorite pranks is to sneak into an open drawer or laundry basket when no one is looking and steal a sock.  Sometimes we’ll catch a glimpse of her running like a streaming black bullet, looking nervously over her shoulder to check if anyone sees her, with a fluffy white object dangling from her mouth. Any time a member of our household is missing a sock, the first place we check is in Pony’s crate where she sleeps.  She stores all her “treasures” in her bed!

Share your pet stories with us, too!

Deborah Holland

Executive Vice President, PCH

P.S.  What would a PCH sponsored event be without a few prizes to give away?  We’ll be giving away 7 prizes that are sure to please pet lovers as part of this special promotion.  To be eligible to win, all you need to do is make sure you’re registered as a PCH Facebook Super Fan by February 8th.  Be on the lookout for more details coming soon in the PCH Blog and on our PCH Facebook Fan Page.

I don’t have any pets and my daughter asked me to buy one but we can’t afford it. I am lazy to take care animals but I like them. If the Prize Patrol would bring one with the prize I won this Feb 29th, I would appreciate and promise to be taking a good care for it.

Deborah, I have a cat and dog, they were very energitic, in their years they have mellowed. My dog is still funny, don’t hit, act afraid or sneaky, she will own you! If someone hits(playing) me, she goes after them, if I hit them, she goes after them! Sometimes she just gets her toy and shakes it instead! It’s funny to watch her when she’s protecting my youngest son, who is 6’2″ 320lbs she’s a Jack Russel Fiest.

I liked all of the dogs. I dont have a dog but I have a cat. We use to dress him up as a pumpkin for Halloween every year. He’s a pretty good cat but for some reason at night he starts to get more energy and will randomly come out of nowhere and whack me and than run away with a playful purr. lol

Cute dogs. We have a Belgium Malinois (pronounced Mal-in-wa) and a Min Pin. They are both males. Even though one is large and one is small, they are best buddies.

i love pony, she looks like my lil dude.she has longer leggs than he does.and the out-fit, i bought the same one last year.he thought he was stylin and profiling in the mirror.he would not let me take it off of him.he snapped at methen tried to lay on me after he did that.its all good i let him wear it to it got raggedy and dirty.even then he did not want it off.after i threw it away he did not let me touch him for 3 days.ATTITUDE!OMG!he and his buddies have me laughin from the gutt how goofy they are.they are kids w/fur my boys think they are humans.they understand me when i talkand like kids they obey or notlikehumanbeing. if a person does not own a pet they criticize your actions with your pets.like kids pets are a joy to have around when you bring them up right.but one thing i am NOT!! going to do is kiss them now that is too much love i can not give YUCK!!!!! i love my babies but the kiss is not mycup of tea,,,,

Deborah Holland
Executive Vice President PCH;
I know it’s too late to register for the pet lover’s special promotion. I just want to say that “Pony” looks so cute, all dressed up in her outfit and it is so funny that she likes socks. I always say the washer or dryer takes the socks in our house because we are always missing one sock. We love animals, and if we could, we would get a dog for my disabled son for a friend and companion. “Your friend and PCH fan”

I would love for the prize patrol to come help me out. I am currently trying to get disability but would love to be able to have people take in animals until we could find permanent homes instead of them going to the pound. Usually they are put down with-in 10 days no matter what the pound says. I have people to take animals, but no money to get the animals the much needed vet care they need!! I was a vet tech for 15 years until I just couldn’t do it anymore. I have 2 chihuahuas now. That’s about all I can handle, sometimes to much but I push myself. That’s my story! ; )
