A New Look For PCH Fan Page — It’s About “Time”!

If you use Facebook, you’ve probably noticed by now that it has given itself a “Facelift” with the new Facebook Timeline format. It’s all in the hopes that it will help you tell the story of your life better, while you enjoy the stories of your favorite friends, companies and organizations.

We believe that the Facebook Timeline on the PCH Fan Page will help you enjoy the Publishers Clearing House story more. Our story is rich in history, rich in innovation and, well, making people rich!

Also, we think we have a wonderful story to share with you. A story of a small family owned business that started in a Long Island basement and became one of America’s most iconic companies.

Here are just a few of the pieces of Publishers Clearing House history we’ll be able to share with you with the help of Timeline:

  • Our history: When did we award our first prize? When did the Prize Patrol make its first appearance? And who was our very first millionaire winner?
  • Publishers Clearing House’s charitable work. Did you know that about 40% of all PCH profits go to help deserving charities? With the help of the new Facebook Timeline, you’ll be able to learn about  our Good As Gold winners, folks who get an exciting visit from the Prize Patrol because of the charitable work they are doing
  • Historic PCH photos
  • Notable newspaper clippings of sweepstakes winners and winning moments
  • Vintage PCH mailers
  • PCH employee Our House newsletters from the past that highlight company history and people

How’s The Facebook Timeline Format Different?

The first change is, of course, the Timeline. At the top right of the Fan Page you see the word “Now” and a Timeline that moves back in time to “Founded.” Click on any time period to learn more about PCH during that segment.

See the photo at the top of this blog for the new location of the tabs, also known as “apps.” With Timeline, only three tab panels are viewable at any given time. To see more “apps,” just expand the tab panel by clicking the drop-down box.

Want to access the fun tabs even faster?  When you’re visiting a tab, you can click on the arrow to reveal a “drop down menu” right next to the PCH logo at the top of the Fan Page. This will reveal the rest of the page’s tabs, so that you can visit the next game with just one click.

Want to see recent posts by fellow fans? Just look to the right now. Also, at the right, you’ll see the Fan Pages that Publishers Clearing House has “LIKED.” You can trust that the news and information on these “LIKED” Fan Pages is reliable and accurate.

A handy new feature of the Facebook Timeline format is the ability to send messages to Publishers Clearing House. Have a question? Just click the “MESSAGE” button to send us a message. An official PCH representative will respond to your request for information.
