In What States Has Prize Money Been Awarded? Question Answered!

Prize money has been awarded to prize winners in all 50 states! But read on to find out if your state has ever had a SuperPrize winner!

The other day, Amanda C. stopped by my office to tell me about a question that was posted on her recent blog, “Wish Upon a Lucky Star And SuperPrize® Dreams Could Come True.” The question was from Annamaria S., who said, “I am from New Mexico. Has anyone ever won from here?” When I heard this, I decided I had to write a blog myself, because I’m so happy to tell you that…

Yes, Annamaria S., there have been Publishers Clearing House prize winners in all 50 states! Ever since the launch of our very first sweepstakes in 1967, we’ve given away millions of dollars in prize money to folks from every state in the country! The Prize Patrol sure has been busy!

But which states have had a SuperPrize Winner? We actually have a map here at PCH Headquarters that represents all the states in which $1,000,000.00…$2,000,000.00… …$10,000.000.00…AND MORE!…in prize money has been awarded in over the years. As the map shows, to date, the Prize Patrol has awarded SuperPrizes to lucky prize winners in twenty-seven states, including…

  • Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida
  • Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland
  • Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri
  • Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York
  • North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania,
  • Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington

Is your state on the list above? If not, I encourage you to enter today for your chance to become its very first SuperPrize winner and get a special visit (and a whole lot of prize money!) from the Prize Patrol!

Remember: our winner selection process is completely random and unbiased, and all entries have an equal chance of winning. North, East, South or West, prize winners can come from anywhere! Wherever you live, it’s just as possible for you to become a PCH SuperPrize winner — like our two newest millionaires, Jason Clark of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and Leroy Faulks of Orange, New Jersey — as it is for every entrant.

Best Wishes!

Maryann Carter
Contest Manager

P.S. If you have any questions you’d like to ask us — about prize money, prize winners or anything else, do what Annamaria S. did — post them in the blog comment space below, and we’ll do our best to answer ASAP!

I’d like to know did someone ever win the “Tax-free 1 million dollars”? I believe it ended April 15th.

And is it possible for a person to win more than one sweepstakes?

Just a Quick question. Maryann you said nice blog by the way, but you said If your state is not listed, keep entering. You never know it could be choosen one day which is true… But if the sweepstakes is not choosen by goegraphical location then why would that really matter? Also a week ago I think it was April 7th 8th and 9th I was un able to enter the sweepstakes due to my pc breaking down. I am very concerned about my status because I have made it a point to enter everyday as much as I possibly could. On that particular day the email stated that If i was to enter thru that bulletin I would have a number put in the winner selections range! I already recieved a email stating Ihad a number on the winner selections list. I am a bit confused but I still enter everyday, on pretty much every website except facebook; because I rarely go on it myself. I called customer service and was told there was nothing they could do. Pretty bummed.I feel my efforts are going to go to waste. I will continue to enter until the winner is choosen! Good luck everyone thanks in advance!

Thanks MaryAnn for the ‘state update’ … Nice that you wrote in the blog!! Interesting.. hmmm,
I think it all has to do with the optimism -or- pessimism of the people. Also the population of that state…? Everyone, (I think) has the chance to enter but many just don’t believe it could happen to them and toss the entries in the trash -or- just ignore the emails because they don’t want to take the time to enter. Who knows why some states win more than others? If someone in a specific state wins & it makes the news and then word of mouth spreads, I think a lot of people decide to try it out. I have never met a PCH winner but I do it simply because ~I Believe~ and I want to bless my kids, who have their own financial struggles. Plus, there is so much good that can be done. ;-)

Well, my state is not listed as a Super Prize Winner, so I’m still crossing my fingers it will be me in my state. Hope that doesn’t read selfish, yet I do enter and enter to give myself better odds. Yet, I realize that since it is a game of chance, that a person that only enters once could on their very first time be a big windfall winner from PCH. Just hope this time though, all those many entries I have done will pay off in a big way.

Not to start a dispute I love PCH even if I never won I enjoy all the scratch off and slot machine games. I was just curious to know about the instant winners I get in the mail. I know that the one that was a 5,000 winner on its own was just to win another entry into the grand prize that’s already been awarded but i’ve also won on all of the other instant ones for the range of $50 to $500 wins. Will I ever actually receive any of them?

Do you have a better chance at winning if you buy something? My husband is a firefighter and I’m really wanting to help my family and my parents out. My dad has been working with youth in music for 35 years. Doesn’t pay much. However I can better my chances! Thank you for such an opportunity. What a blessing.

I’m done finding ALL the cute paste it here’s return this don’t return that’s. What the frig????? WHY do you have to send these soo often????? Besides finding pasting fiquireing out what to send and not to send ,sign this if ordering or this one if not . Then all the stamps. I’VE had it . Now you’be sent me a notice to CALL YOU. It says prize awarded over a year from now April 2014 you expect me to play this spend all this postage for yet another year??? My odds of winning would be greatter if I took the postage and played the lottery. It’s nice to have a sweepstakes but come on. It’s time consuming and costing a fortune in postage. Ya all have a good day!!!!!!!!

I’m young but i’ve come from a very broken home… At times we used rain water as bath and food water. Not taking anything away from anyone because all have struggles at every age in every state! But through my grandparents life R.I.P, and mine… Delaware residents does not seem to win anything major. Is it because we are the 2nd smallest state? We don’t get enought national attention? I believe it’s a perfect time for a delaware resident to win! This would not only be good for my family and I but for the Publishers Clearing Housw team. To show how truely diverse you are with you winnings! Thank you very much for your attention. Good luck everyone!

Has anyone under 40 yrs of age ever won? I never see anyone around mid 20′s win. Is that why your commercials are on channels featuring shows like Different Strokes, M.A.S.H etc.? I enter daily and I’m 27 so I was just curious! : )

I’ve been entering PCH sweepstakes since 1967 when I was 18 yrs. old. I’ve moved around, gotten married but somehow always eventually got your sweeps in the mail for over 45 yrs. now. Plus I enter every time I get a PCH sweeps email. Except for winning a $100 early sweeps prize many years ago, I’m still entering and praying I will win your super prize sweeps. We are senior citizens now and I just checked your list of all the states who had a super prize winner. Rhode Island has never had a winner listed. I pray I’m the first winner through God’s divine intervention.

It amazes me that everyone keeps complaining about where the awards go. Random is just that, if try picked a number from your city because you request it, it wouldn’t be random. Maybe big cities win because there are more entries die to more people. Seems half the people are complaint that big cities never win, other half that all towns never win. Wherever you live your chances are the same. There’s a certain number of entry numbers jumbled together and one gets picked. Your choice is how many of those numbers are yours. Thanks PCH for giving us the opportunity to win. You also always have some good offers, I don’t buy often, but I’m always happy with the deal I get when I do.
Thank you!

How come you only let people win that have houses if you let people in apartments win, maybe they can afford a house. I have never seen the prize patrol go to any place but a house. I dont think its fair. I been playing publishers clearing house since u had to lick the stamps and choose the magazines. I’m loyal to hope and God an continue to play. But I’m loosing faith in the fairness of the game.
