Big Check Helps One Man Save For His Daughter’s College Fund!

August 2nd 2012 is a day that Tyrone Garvin will never forget.  Tyrone was home during the day, gearing up to go to work for the New York City Transit where he is a train operator when his daughter was at camp.  After a few rings of the doorbell and knocking on the door, we heard someone approaching.  As you would imagine, Tyrone was in complete SHOCK that the one and only PCH Prize Patrol was standing at his door with a BIG Check for $10,000.00!  Watch this touching Publishers Clearing House winner now!

Tyrone’s daughter is clearly the apple of his eye, and this self proclaimed “Mr. Mom” was thrilled to have the opportunity to provide for his daughter. When I asked him “can you believe it?” – his immediate response was that the money would go towards his daughter’s college fund.  Unfortunately she was at camp when the Prize Patrol arrived, but Tyrone made sure that he gave his daughter a “winning moment” of her own when she returned home.  Tyrone emailed me about the experience:

“When she came in, she looked at the roses. When she turned around, I held up the “Big” Check. She hopped up into the air like a cheerleader, and asked are we going to do anything with it? I said not we, but you. She said for me? I said, Yeahhhhh, kind of. It’s going into your college fund. She looked kind of semi happy, but understood it has to go for something extremely important, as her future. Then she smiled with acceptance, and agreed.” ~Ty

Tyrone told us that he kept the faith when entering the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes and it really paid off for him – in the form of a $10,000.00 Big Check!  He immediately knew what he wanted to do with the money…do YOU know what you would do with $10,000.00? How about with $5,000 A Week “Forever”? Remember, our first-ever “Forever” prize event is just weeks away, and if you win, you’d get $5,000 a week for your life, then after that, $5,000 a week for the life of someone you choose. Not only would you be able to set up a college fund for your child, you’d be able to leave an entire legacy! So if you haven’t already entered today, head over to right away!

GOOD LUCK from the Prize Patrol!

If I won $5,000.00 A week for Life, I’d save for my three daughters’ college fund! So my children wouldn’t be working hard.

What I would do with a “some thousand dollars” check?
I have my beloved Acura sitting in my yard. Had an accident in 1/12. Everyday I just whimper looking at the damage. It’s about 52 hundred to repair and it’s a 2001 CL and Acura’s just don’t make those models anymore. I loved this car before I ever knew it existed. My boyfriend signed it over to me while it was his car long ago. To get the chance at winning I would repair it all. But the truth I face is selling it’s parts following that junking it. I’m no mechanic and to take parts off is going to be hard to get in order. And just even typing this bring tears to my eyes. Yes, thankful no one was hurt. I can do amazing things if I could make history as a PCH winner.

With $5000 a week FOREVER I would:
Buy a house in a great enviroment for me and my family which consist of my fiance, and our 7 year old daughter. I would love to put us in a house that is clean and safe and not have to worry about roaches and spiders because the landlord doesnt take care of his properties. If you saw where we lived you would understand why I want to provide so much better for my family.
I would buy my family a car seeing as we do not own one of our own
I would get all of our bills caught up and pay everything on time.
I would start a college fund for our daughter that would consist of a $500 deposit on a weekly basisl.
I would be able to give our daughter an allowance again.
I would be able to buy her something when she wants something new without wondering if I am going to have the money to do so. Christmas would be so much better not only because we would be able to afford it but because we will be in a nicer home in a great enviroment. I would provide good health insurance for my family. I would help my mother in law get into a nicer house because where they live is not that great as well. I would donate to whatever church we start going to. I promised my fiance if we won I would also put myself through school and get a business degree. I also promised him that i would pay for him to continue his education. We would also finally be aboe to get married after being together for 11 years almost 12 years. We would be able to have a nice wedding and not just a court house wedding. I think its time especially after having a child together and being together for as long as we have. We are both hoping and praying that we win so we can all have a better life and have it together. We would do so many great things if we do win. Not just to help us but to help others as well. There is so much that it would take all day to tell you. After I pass on Not only will our daughter have her savings account but she will be blessed with $5000 a week for the rest of her life. I think that would be so amazing for her. Because not only will she have her college fund but we will also start her a fund just for her with a deposit of $500 a week. So life would be amazing with no struggles. And that is exactly what I hope and pray for for her and our family. I enter on pch everyday. I hope, pray, dream, talk about winning everyday. I also have my lucky penny which i truly do believe is lucky. SO lets see.

Thank you Danielle Lam, PCH Prize Patrol Elite for that very exciting and heartfelt letter!!!!

Your blog just made me cry, it is a very heartfelt story about a father and his daughter! This story is so very sweet, Tyrone Garvin, just seems like a good person and he is doing the right thing for his family!

I totally understand where he is coming from having a son of my own, but this is not about me, but about Mr. Tyrone Garvin and I totally appreciate what he is doing for his family, I know I would do the same, it is one of the many things I have to do on my “to do” list, if I win the “$5,000.00 a week “Forever” contest this August 31st. ! I know you hear this everyday, but I do hope, pray and dream of my lucky PCH number to be picked this August 31st, 2012. I so want to say Congratulations to the Garvin family!!!!

And…Thank you for sharing this lovely story with all of us!!!!

If I won $5k a week for a life time I would for sure be a happy, not worried mother anymore. I would have money for medical bills and help my family open up their business…I could go on and write a book. I could finally bless my parents with retirement funds. I of course would chose my boys to continue on the legacy.

Dear PCH Prize Patrol Elite Team, I HOPE & Pray that you will answer my prayer. My Husband & I just got a letter from the Social Security Office & it said that they are going to deduct $396.oo from Our check that we get cause we can’t work. My Husband’s check barely covered the rent, & I was taking care of the bills, Our bus fare , Household supplies,& personal hygiene. please if you can surprise me with a knock on my door, I just don’t know how we are going to do. I was hit by a Dump Truck when I was 11 yrs.old . My body is in poor health, I’m not wanting you to feel sorry for me, I’m asking for Empathy please. I don’t want to be a burden to MY Precious Children. I am a very loyal fan, & I am praying that you can help me in any way possible. May God Always Watch Over Y’all.
