Forever Changed by PCH – Karen Anderson’s Winner Story

Hi everyone!  This is Matt K. from PCH Creative.  We’ve all seen the winning moments of our fantastic SuperPrize winners on TV or maybe even on YouTube.  But what happens when the Prize Patrol leaves and the winner is Forever Changed with this incredible windfall of serious money?  For the past few weeks, I’ve been interviewing some of our past winners and asking them what DID happen after the Prize Patrol van rolled away!  We’ve been finding out how they reacted, how their lives were transformed, and what they’ve been doing now that they couldn’t have done before. This week’s inspirational profile is with Karen Anderson, a SuperPrize winner from 2011!

Karen Anderson

It is always important to set goals in life, but as I like to say, “to truly achieve, you have to believe!” I have always thought that one of the best ways to build up your faith in yourself is to announce your plans to the world in a big, loud voice!  I don’t know of any other Publishers Clearing House SuperPrize winner who exemplifies this better than Karen Anderson!

For years, Karen had wanted a swimming pool. “When I was growing up, there was a certain circle of friends I knew that had it all – tennis courts, horses, and swimming pools.  What I really wanted was a swimming pool!  To me, that was the epitome of richness.”

As the years went by, Karen never gave up her dream.  She began pestering her husband about it all the time, and as soon as he gave in, she made them drive to the pool contractor that same day!  They had never gotten one before because the money wasn’t there, and even at THIS point, the pool was going to be a bit of a stretch.

“All of my [extended] family told me I was crazy.  They said that I couldn’t afford it!  But I just told them, ‘well don’t worry, because one day I’m going to be a millionaire!’  And guess what- I was right!”

Now that’s what I call positive thinking!

Karen Anderson Winner Story

Before winning the Big Check in 2011, Karen had been entering the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes for many years.  Her husband used to buy lottery tickets, but still would poke fun at her for entering PCH.  “We would have the same conversation every month – eventually he got the hint!”  I guess Karen got the last laugh!

The $1,000,000.00 from Publishers Clearing House came just in time – when she was announced the winner, Karen had just lost her job.  Winning made her able to pay for much needed medical expenses and personal care services in the following years.

“I always tell people that I am eternally grateful to Publishers Clearing House for the blessing they’ve given me.  Everyone needs to enter – keep believing!”

As you can see, Karen is a great example of positive thinking.  She used to always tell people she was going to go on a tour of Europe.  She went on a small European vacation a year or two before her big PCH win, and now thanks to her Big Check, she hopes to complete her tour with a Mediterranean cruise in the years to come!

Matt K.

P.S. – We all have things we tell our friends and family that we want to achieve.  I tell people all the time that I’m going to get in shape!  What is something you tell the people you know?  Share it in the comments below!

Hi! I remember Karens’ win. This blog is funny since just this weekend I told my neighbor I was going to win BIG at Publishers Clearing House! My kids know I enter constantly and I never stop saying I’m going to win BIG. Hubby even joins me in my daydreams and says when you win… I started commenting on the blogs and facebook so “when” I win, people would know I was a “real” person! Believe me, I am ready to win! 7000.00 A Week is everything I could dream of! I have already researched areas to move, I have found a great place to relocate. The weather is mild all year, low crime, activities hubby enjoys… We wouldn’t have to sell this one before as long as interest rates stay low. I have done my research, now to continue to enter so my dream will come true!

Good morning Matt K., I love the winning moments of Karen and how she kept on “THINKING POSITIVE” and NEVER GIVING UP which I do every time I enter Publishers Clearing House!!!

Well Matt, I just dream of being a Multi-Million dollar winner because I am a “wanna-be-winner” one day and when I tell family and friends, they look at me as if I was crazy because where I live no one has ever won that BIG prize from PCH, but I know I will become a Multi-Million dollar winner from Publishers Clearing House one day!!! I have been doing this for a very long time now and it is a lot of fun believing, believing, believing that I will becoming the next Multi-Million dollar winner from Publishers Clearing House and YES, YES, YES! I am ready to win the $7,000.00 A Week for Life!!!

I have been entering by mail, email, FB, PCH blog and so much more, I just know my number will be picked one day and I just hope that it will be this November 26th for the $7,000.00 A Week for Life!!! I have a big family so I DREAM BIG, BIG, BIG every time I enter PCH!!!

Okay, what would I do if I were to win this November 26th for the $7,000.00 A Week for Life, besides going on trips, getting a new used car for my Mother and I and saving and investing the money I won, I say this all the time, I would purchase the two homes next door to my parents house, besides pay off her mortgage, that way we would all be close to her. I know MONEY doesn’t buy happiness but it will buy the feeling of being financially secure and at this point in our lives that is a wonderful feeling to have!!!

I loved what Dave Sayer said in his blog on March 9, 2012: Positive thinking can be a good philosophy for life … here’s why…

Okay, Matt K., I love your blog at looking back at all the winners and I hope to be one of them one day!!!

P.S. I know this is a long shot for everyone that has entered PCH so I just wanted to wish everyone GOOD LUCK!!! You never know what will happen and who will win that is why it is so very exciting every time I enter PCH!!!

I tell people also that one day I’m going to be a millionaire! My husband told me that I am living in a fairy tale world. I am so glad that I dont have to rely on anyone believing for me. I can believe all by myself and just like Karen, I too, will have the last laugh. I will never give up and I know that one day I will see the PCH Prize Patrol in my driveway and at my doorstep with that BIG CHECK. Congrats to Karen! Matt, these updates are wonderful. Keep them coming!!!! Great job! :)

I will never give up and never stop believing! It will be an awesome day when the Prize Patrol rolls into my driveway and awards me the Publishers Clearing House BIG CHECK! I think that if you stop believing in things that your life becomes dull and you begin to look at things negatively. I want to keep a good outlook in life. Life can deliver some blows but it is how you come through them that builds character. To all my PCH friends, good luck and keep the faith!

Your rainbow will come smiling thru
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true

There is so much poverty around us. In addition, I would pay off all of our medical debt and send my child with special needs to a school that could really help him. Then I would build a better space for meeting his physical needs in our home.

I only asked them to pray… God is my witness as to what I said in this comment… My word is the truth. I crave good deeds… Not money.
For I am a man with a purpose.
My reward is with my Lord. Only a fool would assume that a prize of such magnitude could possibly be for himself alone.
Thank you for asking the right question.
