Nettie J. is one of those fans – a SuperFan– that lives and breathes PCH. You’ll find Nettie commenting on our blogs… posting to PCH’s Fan Page on Facebook… even pinning her favorite PCH pictures on Pinterest. She was even nominated by Prize Patrol Elite member Todd Sloane for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which she happily accepted!
We wanted to find out all about Nettie, so we decided to interview her. And boy, does she have some nice things to say!
PCH: How long have you been a PCH fan? Did you first get involved by entering our Sweepstakes through the mail… playing our games… or some other way?
Nettie: I have been a #PCHFan online since 2006. The very first time I entered PCH was 23 years ago in 1991, by mail. In 2006 I gave it a try again via Internet and I was #INITTOWINIT ever since.
PCH: What keeps you going and motivates you as a PCH SuperFan?
Nettie: I get my inspiration from many sources. Everything gives me inspiration; a walk by the water, a bright sunny day, a rainy day, beautiful flowers, just being able to get up every morning gets me inspired. Being diagnosed with Lupus/SLE and then a few years later being re-diagnosed with Lupus/RA is enough to give one lots of inspiration. Pain can do either make you or break you, and I chose to make it. I chose to turn something that was negative into a positive. Don’t get me wrong, I had a huge pity party, and then I reached out to my #Community and my #Community embraced my children and me. That’s why I am more than happy to be a community volunteer. Something else that really motivates me is participating in three PCH groups online through Facebook. Reading and seeing the comments from PCH fans like me is so inspiring. Everyone has a story to tell and everyone like me who is a big PCH fan shares one common denominator, and that is we believe in miracles… and we believe in PCH.
PCH: What social media do you use to connect with PCH, and how do you use it?
Nettie: I connect with PCH via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and YouTube. On Pinterest, I have a board specifically designated for all my favorite PCH pins and it is called “My PCH Favorites.” I am proud to say you can even Google it. I use these websites to connect with PCH and other fans. I share PCH videos, pictures and anything pertaining to PCH.
PCH: What is your favorite thing about PCH?
Nettie: My favorite thing about PCH is their generosity and the fact that they give people more chances to #Win than any other sweeps I know. Another thing I love about PCH is that they give people #Hope. All someone has to do is look at all those videos of all the people they have helped and continue to help over the years. What’s not to like?
PCH: Which PCH websites and games do you enjoy?
Nettie: I play every single game I possibly can on PCH.com, PCHlotto, PCHslots and PCHgames. I do this every day.
PCH: Do you think you will win big at PCH? Have you ever won a PCH prize?
Nettie: I hope that I will win big on PCH; I try every single day at different times during the day and have been successful in winning several prizes. I have won three $5 gift cards, a $100 prize on Lucky Diamonds Casino, and $250 on PCH Games.
PCH: Wow, way to go! If the Prize Patrol visited your home, how would you react?
Nettie: I would be so shocked and happy, screaming, crying, and laughing – the whole nine yards!
PCH: What would you do/who would you help if you won the PCH SuperPrize?
Nettie: I would definitely go back to school, I would pay off my daughter’s almost-$50,000 worth of student loans, pay bills, and help my family, friends, and community. I would definitely get a new pet of my choice.
PCH: What advice would you give to other PCH fans?
Nettie: Never give up searching and working toward your goal of trying to win, or whatever it is you want… and never lose hope of winning at #PCH!
PCH: How did it feel to be nominated by Todd Sloane for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and how did it go?
Nettie: I was so shocked when Todd Sloane nominated me for the #PCH #ALS #IceBucketChallenge. As a matter of fact, I didn’t even know about the nomination until another PCH fan told me about it. See, that’s the best thing about PCH fans – as long as a fan likes and shares, you don’t miss anything. That’s what I call #TeamPCH.
