Greetings, fans and friends,

Here at PCH, we work very hard to educate everyone about how to avoid a scam and how to report a scam. And while it might help other blog readers when you share your scam stories in the “comments” section of the blog, it is crucial that you report scams using our names properly – and immediately!

Report a PCH Scam
“Report a Scam!”
Says Danielle Lam

Whether you receive a fraudulent “friend request” on Facebook from a member of the PCH Prize Patrol (remember, the PCH Prize Patrol never sends friend requests on Facebook!) … or get a phone call, email or letter from someone claiming to be from PCH, who will award you a prize only if you send money first (something that would also never happen with the real PCH), you absolutely need to take the following action:

Report the scam using our Scam Incident Report
Are you unsure of whether or not you’ve been scammed? We have tons of practical help on our Scam Prevention tab on Facebook as well as our Fraud Protection Page at PCH.com.

    1. Hello Penny, Thank you very much for reporting the scammers that have contacted you. Stopping them is a team effort and we are happy that you are doing your part. While it may be tempting, we don’t encourage you to interact with them any more than is minimally necessary. Simply tell them that you know they’re not the real PCH and hang up or disconnect your mode of contact with them. To stop scammers from contacting you on Facebook, check out this PCH Blog article: http://bit.ly/StopFBScammers. As a reminder, you can report scammers to PCH at this link: http://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH. Be careful and stay safe everyone!!

  1. I am a 80 year old woman and I likely have been scammed by a person claiming to be from PCH. He calls himself Tom Monroe. He called me to say I am a big winner and he was sent to help me prepare for the winnings. He guided me through liquidation of many of my assets to cover the taxes on my supposed winnings and he had me wire the money in advance of the announcement of my win.

  2. I have been contacted by PCH Person . 3 Different people said I have won 4.5 million $. But they said that I had to send them 25 thousand for my part of insurance from the FDIC before I could receive my winnings? A Lisa called me, a Frank? Is this a scam!

    1. Hello Tom, I am really happy that you knew that it was not the real PCH who contacted you! We never notify major winners over the phone or through standard mail, email or Facebook. We would really appreciate it if you would send us the details of this scam call you received. PCH does not send private Facebook messages to our fans so please complete a Scam Incident Report. Here’s how: http://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH. There are a lot of scammers out there who use the good name and reputation of PCH, as well as the names of those of us on the Prize Patrol. Please be careful everyone!!

  3. I have received Several calls from Dave Sayer saying I have won $3.55 million and 5,000 A week until life. I said I needed to get a per-paid card for $499.00 to pay for processing. I told him I would have to talk to my daughter, and they told him he couldn’t feel like it was a scam. Then I get a call from Rob Goodman, who tells me about the same thing and tells me to call him when I go get the money card.

    1. Hi Brenda! Please report all contacts from scammers to PCH via this link: http://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH. PCH does partner with the Federal Trade Commission and we send all scam reports to them so please make sure you let us know anytime a scammer contacts you. Remember, the real PCH never notifies major prize winners via phone, standard mail, email, or social media, and we never ask winners to pay to claim their prize. You can see more Safety Tips here: https://bit.ly/FraudProtection2. Please be careful everyone; don’t become a scammer’s victim.

    1. Hello Jason! That is definitely a scammer who contacted you! PCH will never send friend requests, private messages, or winner notifications via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc; we also never ask for money to claim a prize. Do not give this person any personal information and certainly do not send them any money!! Instead, report them to PCH by completing a Scam Incident Report. Here’s how: http://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH. You can see more Safety Tips here: https://bit.ly/FraudProtection2. Please be careful everyone; don’t become a scammer’s victim.
