Is this postcard from PCH

Hello, PCH Fans! Take a look at the postcard pictured above. What do you think? Is this postcard really from Publishers Clearing House? If you answered “NO,” you are absolutely correct! This postcard is NOT really from Publishers Clearing House and was actually sent by scammers who are not affiliated with PCH in any way.

At first glance, the postcard might seem believable. After all, it is nicely designed and includes some historical information about our company. But, if you read closely, there are ways to tell the difference. Don’t be fooled!  Here are 3 tell-tale signs that this postcard is NOT from the real PCH.

1. Publishers Clearing House would never inform a multi-million dollar winner in advance — that would spoil the excitement. If you end up winning a PCH SuperPrize, you’ll know when the Prize Patrol knocks on your door with a “Big Check” balloons, roses and champagne!

2. Publishers Clearing House won’t ask you to call a phone number to claim your prize. As stated above, we make it very easy for our winners – we bring the big prize right to your door; just as you see on TV.

3. Publishers Clearing House will NEVER ask you for any money to claim a prize! Although this fraudulent postcard does not specifically mention a fee to claim a prize, the way scams often work is that once the recipient calls the scammers telephone number, they are then pressured into sending money or purchasing a money card to collect a prize. Remember:  If you are asked for money of any kind to claim a prize for ANY REASON, you are not dealing with the real Publishers Clearing House!  You are dealing with a fraudulent imposter.

Friends, we don’t want to see any of our fans scammed by criminals pretending to be from Publishers Clearing House.  Please know that our Consumer Affairs Department works closely with law enforcement to catch scammers and shut them down! Please also do your part to stay safe. Don’t respond to communications from scammers pretending to be from Publishers Clearing House notifying you of a large prize win in advance and NEVER, EVER give anyone any money in order to collect a prize. Because, at PCH the winning is ALWAYS free!

All the best,

Elaina R.
