2015 Year In Giving – PCH Gives Back All Year Long!

In 2015, PCH has given away countless prizes, including 6 Millionaire-Making fortunes — with one more to go on December 30th! While we do love awarding prizes to lucky winners, giving back to the community is also very important to us at PCH and is a long-standing tradition established by the founders of our company, Harold and LuEsther Mertz. This past year, our PCH family has been honored to give back in a variety of ways. Here’s a look at our 2015 Year In Giving.

PCH Gives Back At Susan G Komen® During the month of October, PCH “Went Pink” and our fans had an opportunity to create breast cancer awareness by sharing badges on Facebook. We were so impressed by the outpouring of support from you, our fans. The event culminated when a team from PCH travelled to the Dallas, Texas offices of Susan G. Komen® to show our support in their fight for a cure with a $25,000 donation.

PCH Gives Back At St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital® PCH and our fans have been enthusiastic supporters of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since they were added to our annual charitable event, The Give Back, and this year was no different. This past October, PCH committed to donate $100,000, and then PCH fans helped “unlock” an additional donation of $50,000 by sharing The Give Back with their family and friends on Facebook. We couldn’t be happier to deliver a “Big Check” for $150,000 to them this January to support the remarkable St. Jude mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®

Plus, our PCH family participated in great volunteer events!

PCH Gives Back At North Shore Animal League America – This year, PCH started the new PCH Volunteer Initiative that gives PCH employees the opportunity to band together and volunteer at local charities. The first volunteer day took place at the North Shore Animal League America, the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world. Over 20 PCH volunteers helped the charity prepare for its Pet Adoptathon® event by bathing some of the puppies and dogs, cleaning cages and more. Then, more PCH employees lent a hand on the day of the event, which was a huge success with nearly 500 animals adopted.

PCH Gives Back At Baby Buggy – PCH Volunteers spent a rewarding day giving their time at Baby Buggy, a charity that recycles baby clothing and gear, such as cribs, strollers and more, and distributes them to over 100 community-based organizations across the country. Our team spent the day sorting donations to prepare them for shipment.

PCH Gives Back At Habitat For Humanity – This summer a team from PCH spent a (super-hot) day volunteering with Habitat For Humanity, an organization that builds homes for families in need. Because there were so many employees from PCH who wanted to help, they were able to make progress on a number of different projects, from insulations to siding to installing a cement walkway!

Plus, PCH employees continue to give back to the community through our Blood Drives, with three held this year! In 2015 we collected 237 pints of blood –over 700 lives saved! Plus, PCH employees participate in our yearly food drive, and more.

There are many other charitable organizations that benefit from the philanthropic spirit established by the founders of our company. These range from the arts, to social services and the environment through charitable trusts established by the company’s founders and their families. Among these trusts is the Mertz-Gilmore Foundation, which funds a grant program that focuses on climate change solutions.

As you can see, from this PCH 2015 Year In Giving overview, the spirit of giving is alive and well here at PCH, just as it should be. Since we know you PCH fans are as invested in giving as we are, we look forward to continuing the tradition in 2016.

Wishing you a wonderful New Year!
