Follow-Up With $1 Million PCH Winner Diane Jehanian

When the Prize Patrol showed up at the Jehanian residence on August 31st, they were looking for $1 Million second chance PCH winner Diane. But she was nowhere to be found! Prize Patrol members Howie and Dave heard a sound on the side of the house, and quickly moved in. Was this going to be Diane?

They went around the corner … only to find Diane’s husband, Greg, mowing the backyard instead. He was totally shocked! He quickly threw on a shirt and helped the Prize Patrol track Diane down at her job. What happened next? Well, watch the full video to find out!

We caught up with Diane to get her side of the story, and she couldn’t have been nicer!

Since the local news station was covering the story live on the air, Diane’s friends started reaching out to her via text messages and on social media. In this fast-paced world, it’s tough for the Prize Patrol to keep things like this under wraps! While she knew the Prize Patrol was probably going to show up at her job, it still took a while for it to sink in.

“It didn’t become real until I saw everyone,” she explained, referring to the Prize Patrol, her husband, and the news crews. “I was really surprised and saw this wonderful scene, my husband and the Prize Patrol!”

The news crews followed the Prize Patrol from the Jehanian’s house to her office, and they immediately started asking Diane questions.

“The news interview was bizarre! I wasn’t prepared to answer questions—I didn’t know what to say! I hope I came across okay!”

As you can see from the video above, she came across just fine! It was truly a great winner reaction, and you can tell she was ready to celebrate.

“My husband and I went out to eat that night, just to chill out and absorb the day.”

And as fate would have it, they also had planned a big party that weekend for their anniversary and to introduce people to their infant grandson. So celebrating their $1 Million windfall as well gave them plenty to be happy about!

We asked Diane if they had any immediate plans for the money. You’ll find that Diane and Greg are pretty practical.

“The biggest thing is putting it away for retirement. My husband had to retire, but I still have a few more years. But we did splurge! My husband got a riding lawnmower tractor. It comes in handy when you have 2 acres!”

Taking care of family is also important for the Jehanians. They plan on setting up a trust for their infant grandson.

Diane entered the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes many years before, but stopped for quite a while. It wasn’t until the last three years that she got back into it, and encouraged her husband to do so as well.

She had this advice for everyone out there still entering:

“I’d encourage people just to put that stamp on the envelope! You don’t have a thing to lose. Nothing! Just do it! You have everything to gain—just send it in!”

P.S. Diane was also thinking about investing money in a cabin in the woods or maybe in a beach vacation home. If it were you, which would you prefer? Tell us in the comments section below!

  1. I will be so blessed to win PCH. I have been playing it since I learned about it when I came here in the USA in 2001 and started entering through mail (not really sure how I started getting it in the mail) but my roommate and I entered it every time until now. But a few years back I started entering thru online and have an account set up so I am still waiting for my name to be picked after 20+ years! Also enjoyed a few products when I would combed the mailings from before.
Thank you PCH for making a difference on people’s lives.
    God bless
