Rubbing The PCH Prize Patrol Van For Good Luck!

On a recent PCH Prize Patrol trip in Southwest Michigan, we made someone other than our winner very excited! My partner Jack and I pulled the Prize Patrol van into a liquor store parking lot so we could pick up some last-minute champagne for the winner we were about to surprise. (Buying locally not only helps the local economy wherever we go; it’s also a lot easier than lugging the champagne in our suitcases!)

There were two of us Prize Patrol Deputies standing in line behind a woman buying lottery tickets. We listened patiently next to her as she told the cashier of her worries that the plant she worked at would soon close. We were wearing our official Prize Patrol jackets and buying champagne around 11 AM on a weekday, but she didn’t seem to notice us standing there. She left the store as we began paying for our champagne, but seconds later she burst back through the door having seen the Prize Patrol van parked outside next to her car. “Are you looking for me???” she yelled at us excitedly with a big smile and waving her company ID nametag.

Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t our prize winner that day, but we encouraged her to keep entering the PCH Sweepstakes. She asked us if she could rub the Prize Patrol van for good luck and we of course encouraged her to—we love meeting people like her while we’re out on the road! We can’t promise that rubbing the Prize Patrol van will help her luck, but it sure won’t hurt!

Cash Sweepstakes Prize Award in Columbia, SC TV Viewing Area

A fond memory for us is when we surprised $10,000 cash sweepstakes winner Henry Wilson in Sumter, SC a little after 11:00 in the morning this past Veteran’s Day. His entire family was home to welcome us for the prize award because it was a holiday. Henry smiled from ear to ear when we told him of his good fortune, and we could hear wife, son and daughter yelling excitedly inside the house.

A few moments later, Henry’s wife, Utreena, joined us outside the front door and began calling family and friends on her cell phone, who at first thought she was joking. The son of the Publishers Clearing House winner loved the Big Check and held it up for the neighbors to see, who all waved or honked as they drove by.

Henry told us he’s been entering the PCH Sweepstakes for 15 years and began sweepstakes entry on pch.com about a year ago. He always had hope that one day it would be his turn for a big cash sweepstakes win. The prize award was very timely for the Wilsons as they desperately needed a new stove and their lists for family Christmas shopping were looking pretty meager before the arrival of the PCH Prize Patrol.

We were glad to spread some holiday cheer to this delightful family!

PCH Cash Sweepstakes Prize Winner Destination: La Cygne, Kansas

During a recent PCH cash sweepstakes prize winner tour, my PCH Prize Patrol partner, Sally, and I drove 350 miles across the state of Missouri to Kansas City. Along the way we stopped for gas and food at a 1950’s-style truck stop and got the eye from the locals while we hungrily filled up on some tasty down-home food. We did not reveal our ultimate destination was in the next state.

Upon arriving at Prairie Accents, the local florist in La Cygne, Kansas, we were not only pleased with the beautiful flower arrangements, but also thrilled that the owner, Lynn, happened to know our PCH cash sweepstakes prize winner! This was a real bonus for us out-of-towners, because our winner, D. Cowan, had a P.O. Box and we had no idea how to find her house. Lynn the florist was very happy to guide us to the home of the Publishers Clearing House winner and to be a part of the surprise winning moment.

An unsuspecting Mr. Cowan answered the door in his bathrobe and slippers. Immediately recognizing us by the navy blue PCH Prize Patrol jackets and Prize Patrol van, he greeted Sally with a broad-grinned “Hi Tiger!” His wife then came out and couldn’t believe her eyes! Clinging to the Big Check a moment later, she noted that she should have washed her hair.

Guess it just goes to show that Publishers Clearing House winning moments are authentic and PCH cash sweepstakes prize winners don’t know we’re coming.

PCH Cash Sweepstakes Winner in Salem, Wisconsin

Across winding roads, over rolling hills and past rows of windmills the PCH Prize Patrol van cruised toward the destination of our next cash sweepstakes winner in Salem, WI.

Our first stop was the florist for a dozen roses and assistance with helium balloons for the PCH sweepstakes winning moment.

Straight from the very inquisitive folks at Westosha Floral (we didn’t spill the beans of course) to Dolores Terry’s house we went. Not more than a few short seconds after we rang the bell a kind gentlemen let us in to personally greet the new PCH cash sweepstakes prize winner.

Amazed and speechless, Dolores was thrilled! And what good timing as she just returned home from the hospital for her recent operation. Dolores and her fiancé were happy to announce their recent engagement sharing their story of finding each other after being separated for 60 years!

With abundant love and good fortune, Dolores is definitely one lucky lady. Still speechless, we knew this PCH cash sweepstakes prize winner was overflowing with delight.

Once again, good timing and good will done right by the PCH Prize Patrol team! We departed for home after this PCH Winning Moment with a feeling of satisfaction and joy for our new winner.
