If I had the money….

Like many people, I would buy my dream house, pay bills and take care of my family. My dream home would be on the east coast by the beach. The inside would be spacious and inviting. Its landscape would include big shady trees, lush hydrangeas, roses and purple campanulas. Of course, I’d take care of debts and throw some payback Mom’s way so she could retire in style, plus a college fund for the niece and nephew. Then, I’d invest, take classes and give money to family and friends in need as well as my favorite charities and my church. Volunteer work with children is also on the list. Before returning to work part-time, I’d do the things I never find time for like visiting out-of-town friends, seeing the cherry blossoms in DC, the Fall foliage of New Hampshire or the latest plays on Broadway. Maybe I’d get a classic Mustang, too.

WOW! I sure have a lot of plans for that Big Check, don’t I? How about you? While daydreaming about what I would do if I won the money, it struck me: we ALL want a nice place to call home, good health and happiness for ourselves and our loved ones, plus financial security, too. But exactly how that $5,000 A Week For Life Big Check from PCH would be spent is where things get really interesting!

Ask yourself: “If I had the money, what would I do?”

Would your dream house be at the beach or maybe in the mountains? Would you put yourself behind the wheel of a Mustang or perhaps a Porsche? Any other big splurges? Maybe if you WIN BIG, you’d work on your bowling game – - by buying your own alley! Perhaps you would use your Big Check to embark on something really out-of-this-world – - like blasting off into outer space on one of the upcoming commercial Virgin Galactic spaceflights for the public!

A “Knock Knock” that’s No Joke

Ever since we were kids we’ve all heard Knock Knock jokes.  Over the years I’ve no doubt heard a hundred or more.  But an online check indicates there are thousands of them: “K-K” jokes for kids (including infantile ones), “K-K” jokes that are pitifully corny, “K-K” jokes that are adult and sophisticated, and “K-K” jokes that are risqué.  I’m sure you know a few, so you don’t need to hear any examples from me.

But there is one “Knock Knock” that is no joke.  Yes sir: the “K-K” I’m talking about won’t produce groans (from corniness), a giggle (from cleverness) or a “Phew” (from naughtiness).   It’s the “Knock-Knock” that immediately precedes a Publishers Clearing House winning moment.  When the door is opened and a brand new PCH Sweepstakes winner sees the Prize Patrol standing there — with roses, balloons and a Big Check — there will be screams, weak knees, tears or maybe just a stunned silence.  This is no April Fools Day joke.  It’s the real thing – recorded time and again on videotape for all of America to see on TV.

I’m always amazed that many people I meet don’t believe that “real people” really win the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes.  I assure them that the PCH winners seen on TV are absolutely real, that they are not actors, that they are not notified in advance, and that the prize deliveries are neither staged nor rehearsed.  What you see in our TV commercials are the actual winning moments – no exceptions!

“What if the winner isn’t home?” some people ask.  It’s true that winners can be off doing chores (shopping or at the doctor’s) or on vacation or at work; but we find them – without ruining the surprise of the winning moment.  That’s why you will sometimes see the Prize Patrol shocking a winner on the job – as co-workers look on in amazement and then break into applause.

Hi all! Happy Tuesday! What’s going on with everyone? I hope you’re enjoying the end of your February. I know I’m ready for March – spring is on its way (not that we had much of a winter here…) and I have lots of fun things planned with friends and family.

Let’s see… is there anything going on with Publishers Clearing House lately? Well, as you know, there are instant prizes being awarded every day on PCHSearch&Win. On Thursday, there’s a PCHlotto Live Event at 3 PM EST.

What’s that? What’s tomorrow? Leap Day, right? Only happens once every four years – how exciting!

Wait… am I forgetting something? Oh… right!

Behind The Closed Doors At Office Headquarters Something Was Going On  – See If You Can Guess!

Caution tape, ladders and frosted glass — what in the world was going on behind the closed doors at PCH office headquarters in Port Washington, New York? Unfortunately that information is top-secret for now. We’re not ready to reveal the details just yet.

Don’t get too disappointed. I will eventually reveal everything, but first I thought we could have a little fun. I want you blog readers to take your best guess at what was going on by studying the pictures. Then, I’ll reveal all the details – and the after pictures – in an upcoming blog!

So, who’s with me? Who’s ready to guess what was going on behind the closed doors at office headquarters in Port Washington, New York?

Okay, okay, I’ll get you started with a few clues. Read carefully…

1) It wasn’t a party, but we’re expecting a warm RECEPTION. Getting warmer?

2) The INS AND OUTS of the design kept our finest designers and art directors busy for weeks. How about now?
