PCHSearchandWin Celebrates Memorial Day

PCHSearchandWin wants to know what Memorial Day means to you. For some it means the start of the summer vacation season. For most it celebrates, commemorates and honors our brave men and women who proudly risk their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day has a very interesting history, some of which I will mention here. But, why not do your own search and see what other facts you can find about this historic holiday. PCHSearchandWin is a great place to start and maybe you could even win an instant prize to make your celebration even better!

Here are some Memorial Day facts: It began as a rite of remembrance after the Civil War, with the first known observance in Waterloo, New York in 1866. But, it was not called Memorial Day; the official holiday name was Decoration Day. In 1882, Decoration Day morphed into what we call Memorial Day, which was a more common, though unofficial, term used until after World War II. In 1967, Federal law declared the holiday’s official name Memorial Day. And, on June 28, 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Holidays Bill, which moved three holidays from their traditional dates to a specified Monday in order to create a convenient three-day weekend, of which Memorial Day was one. I’m not going to mention the other two holidays because this is a good opportunity for you to use PCHSearchandWin to find out for yourself – and maybe even win instantly in the process!

Celebrated on the last Monday of each May – this year on May 30th – by the early 1900s, it became an occasion for general expressions of remembrance for those who served in the military. How will you be celebrating Memorial Day this year? Do you have an interesting story about a family member or friend who has served in the military or specific war or is serving now? PCHSearchandWin wants to know, so please leave your comments and stories below.

This Memorial Day and each one hereafter, remember to raise your flag with us for those from the Civil War to World War II, from the Korean and Vietnam Wars to the Gulf War and into the present day so that we may honor those who gave (and give) their all and more for the freedoms we enjoy today!

Happy Memorial Day!

If I go online then I apparently don’t get the mailings. I like the mailings better (sorry, I’m old-fashioned,I guess) because I can take them with me to look at while I’m at lunch, or even waiting for an appointment. Please send me my mailings, and take me off the e-mail thing.
Thank you,

Dear PCH, I have been with you guys for going on 6 years now and you always email me saying- OH! YOU can be our NEXT WINNER! Someone with your initials will definitely be a winner in your such and such city, Search right now and win instantly. You know I have been with you guys along time and I have NEVER once gotten any instant prize, not so much as a single $5.00 Gift certificate or nothing and here you go everyday with the same ol your gonna WIN line and it is no longer working. I am a very dis-satisfied Customer that deserves Some sort of Compensation for my years of being a Loyal Customer. And to top things OFF, Don’t ever tell somebody that they are a winner when they are in fact like myself a Big Loser because we click in to your little money making scheme except we are not the ones getting money its you guys. Every click, Every Ad, Every-time somebody logs in and touches PCH win now or lose your chance , there are no big winners and I bet people are just paid off to keep there mouth shut and you make it look like they WON something. If your really NOT some SCAMMING, CHEATING, COMPANY in it for the quick BUCK, then there would be more winners more often than NOT and you would not be getting letters like this from people like me who NEVER WIN ANYTHING from ANYBODY. Thanks and have a nice DAY!

Hi Daniel! PCH is a legitimate sweepstakes company. Over the years, Publishers Clearing House has awarded over $237 Million in prizes to people all over the United States and Canada. To see some of those winning moments, visit http://www.pchtv.com. PCH Sweepstakes winners are chosen at random, and each entry has the same chance of winning. You never know who will become the next BIG winner, so don’t lose hope! Also, As detailed in the mailing, in these nationwide contests a separate prize of $100.00 is allocated to each of the 676 unique combinations of two letters in the alphabet. Each timely entrant in the contest is classified by the first and last initials of their name, and assigned to the group of contestants who share the same first and last initial that together form one of these combinations. At contest end, we award a prize for each such combination of letters to a contestant selected at random from among all those with the corresponding initials. In this manner, we are assured that someone with each of the 676 letter combinations or “initials” will win a prize. Full details regarding the contest are set forth in the Official Rules for the mailing and in boxed disclosure box titled “‘YOUR INITIALS’ PRIZE AWARD GUARANTEE.” Thanks!
