PCHSearchandWin sends heartfelt prayers and good wishes to everyone affected by the tornadoes.

Last night, I typed the word “tornado” into PCHSearchandWin. Guess what happened? The Publishers Clearing House powerful search engine revealed an unbelievable amount of information regarding this topic. I’ll share some of it with you in a moment.

Obviously, it’s easy to figure out why I am curious about tornadoes, as I would imagine many people are these days, due to the overwhelming amount of devastating destruction and loss of lives that these massive funnel clouds have caused throughout the Great Plains this year. So, exactly what did I find on PCHSearchandWin besides an amazing amount of articles, definitions, stories, images and videos? Here goes:

  1. Besides the United States, Argentina and Bangladesh have two of the highest concentrations of tornadoes.
  2. In the USA, Tornado Alley is the nickname for the area constantly experiencing a high frequency of tornadoes each year.
  3. Why are tornadoes mostly concentrated in the Great Plains? Relatively flat land in that area allows cold, dry polar air from Canada to meet warm, moist tropical air from the Gulf of Mexico.
  4. The earliest known tornado in the Americas was on August 21, 1521 in what is now called Mexico City.

So which states comprise the Great Plains and Tornado Alley? You’ll have to go to PCHSearchandWin (pch.search.com) to find out! While you’re there, you can keep searching for more information on any topic you like. Remember:  PCHSearchandWin is a powerful search engine that works just like Google or Yahoo. The only difference is that you could win prizes instantly!

Many of our loyal PCHSearchandWin fans and followers have asked us how they can help those in areas affected by the recent spate of tornadoes – especially the one that hit Joplin, MO, which is the deadliest single U.S. tornado since 1953. (Source: msnbc.com) For your convenience, several organizations are listed below:

  1. American Red Cross – www.redcross.org or phone 1-800-RED-CROSS; text the word “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10.00 donation; standard text message rates may apply.
  2. The Salvation Army – www.donate.salvationarmyusa.org or phone 1-800-SAL-ARMY; text the word “Joplin” to 80888 to make a $10.00 donation; standard text message rates may apply.
  3. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is in need of blood – especially Type O. Visit www.cbco.org to find donor locations.

PCHSearchandWin sends our heartfelt prayers and good wishes to everyone affected by the tornadoes. If you’d like to help, please make a donation to an organization of your choice, and if you live in the area of damage, you could always donate supplies, food or water. And, if you can’t, simply say a few prayers for everyone – it can’t hurt!

Best wishes to all,

Leslie Jaye
