“Reach For The Stars” With PCHSearch&Win!

The temperatures are warming up, the skies are brightening and the days are longer! Spring is kicking in and summer is on its way. While everyone loves toasting under the warm and sunny skies, I personally love the calm and sultry feel of the summer nights. Of course, no summer night is complete without a bright, cheery moon and beautiful starry sky!

Growing up in Long Island with all the streetlights, cars and buildings, those burning beauties can sometimes be hard to see. I’ll never forget the visits to see a good friend of mine in upstate Albany, about a 3-hour drive from my Long Island hometown. No matter the season, once you drove away from the city those stars shined brightly in all their glory! To this day, I’ve never seen a more beautiful and prominent night sky than I did on those trips upstate!

So just how much do you know about those brightly burning stars overhead? Head to PCHSearch&Win and learn more about the study of Astronomy and all the fun and interesting facts about the skies! Did you know there is even a special day devoted to Astronomy?

Edwin Reach For Stars

That’s right! Saturday, April 20th is National Astronomy Day! A full day dedicated to giving astronomy lovers a chance to share their passion with the world. Clubs, planetariums, observatories and museums will host public viewings, hands-on activities and more! Why not look on PCHSearch&Win to find out about Astronomy Day activities going on in your neighborhood?

I’m sure many of you are like me, living close to a major city filled with distractions from the beauty of nature. Along with finding those fun Astronomy Day activities on PCHSearch&Win, why not search for some good spots to kick back, unwind and take in all the beauty the night sky has to offer!

Happy stargazing!

Are you kidding being away from the city is amazing, i used to live outside the city for a while and i can still remember at night when you would see millions of stars laying down on the floor wondering whats out in the far away sky’s and the wind blowing all over you. Its a good time to be alone and find yourself some time to think and requestion the things you do in life

If I screamed your name on top of a mountain,
Would you hear thunder?
If I cried,
Would you feel the rain ?
If I walked past you in the night,
Would you feel the wind ?
Cause when they’ve passed,
Follow The Wind of Change !

The stars seen in the country are plenty, the most stars I’ve ever seen was in the desert. Flagstaff Arizona was amazing. We were on a platue up on a mountain and it was like we were above the stars, there were no trees or anything, just stars all around,up and down to the ground below. Never have I been so immersed in the heavens then that night.thank for letin me share my star experience

Hi! Yes I can see the stars where I live..they are like mountains or oceans..never will understand how someone doesn’t believe.. I still wish upon a star everytime I go out, and it makes me realize that PCH isn’t that far! They are a reminder to me that all things are possible. And yes I do have a telescope..or should I say my kids do..somewhere in the attic. When they were younger they liked to look at the stars. Need to put in entries, maybe one day my wish upon a star will come true..dreaming continues:)

PCH Hey what has been happening with the PCH Search&Win When I try and search thru my email or any other search page it keeps telling me to sign in however; when I try this, the 3 passwords that I use don’t work and I only have 1 e-mail acct. This has been occurring for on and off for about 10 days. Thanks for your help

Yes, I remember when I was a teenager looking at the stars when we went on our annual camping trip at Lake Tahoe, so clear and beautiful! Checking out the falling stars and the milky way, wish I had one now! Love that candy “Milky way”, but also the stars…., wish I could be one… Remember April 20th is Astronomy Day.

Reading these comments made me think of my late mother’s poem she wrote,

“The beautiful sky with stars agleam
And bushy trees that stand so free
Their boughs outstretched with leaves aglow
That cast their shadows to and fro
At midnite one does feel sublime
In this beautiful world
Which is mine—Peace.”
