PCHers Share Their Favorite Wintertime Activities!

Hello Searchers!

Brrrrr! It’s getting cold out there! Now that all the holidays have come and gone, Winter 2014 is in full swing! Personally I never liked the winter. I mean what is so fun about the cold, the dry air, layers of sweaters and jackets and the snow? Well it’s time to turn that winter frown upside down because the winter can actually be a ton of FUN!

Even though you may want to hide under a blanket with the heat blasting these next few months, there are still plenty of fun wintertime activities you can enjoy! I decided to ask around and see what my fellow PCH employees do for fun when the temperatures drop!

Fellow blogger Laurel U. isn’t a fan of the cold weather, but won’t let it stop her from enjoying the winter season! “I’m not much for going outdoors during the winter, but I do enjoy making my daughter hot chocolate after she’s been outside in the cold. She enjoys a good, chocolaty mix with lots of marshmallows and whipped cream, but for grown-ups like me, I get creative by adding fun new flavors like peppermint.”

That sounds delicious, Laurel! I love hot chocolate too, so I decided to head to PCHSearch&Win to find some more creative hot chocolate ideas! I found so many that sound delicious, I don’t know which one I want to try first!

Next, I caught up with Jane M., one of our writers here at PCH who is also a fan of indoor wintertime activities! “I love to go to the movies in the winter and escape to a different world for a few hours. Even though it doesn’t burn calories or build muscle, I think it’s very good for me. Otherwise I would be at the mall spending money!”

I completely agree, Jane! Movies and shopping are two of my favorite things as well! If you are a fan of spending some time inside (and of course staying nice and warm!) check out PCHSearch&Win for your local movie theaters and enjoy some quality time with friends and family!

Speaking of spending time with friends and family, wintertime is great for cooking up some hearty meals to keep you warm! Matt K. told me that his favorite winter activity definitely involves food! “I love visiting my parents for some good home cooking! Nobody makes holiday classic meals like mom!”

Want to try whipping up some mouthwatering dishes this winter? Head over to PCHSearch&Win to find some great new winter dishes that will be sure to leave you full!

Edwin Winter Activities

While most of my co-workers seem to enjoy indoor wintertime activities, Laura G. doesn’t mind some traditional winter fun! “As long as it’s not absolutely freezing outside I really love ice skating at an outdoor rink! I’ll throw on my skates, hat, gloves and winter coat and I am ready to go!” she said.
