Meet Our New $2.5 Million Winner!

Hi Blog readers, it’s Danielle Lam of the PCH Prize Patrol and I can’t wait to tell you the story of the newest PCH Sweepstakes millionaire. On Friday, November 30th we were awarding our newest millionaire with the $2.5 Million Megaprize from PCHlotto!  The day began as many big PCH prizes did… by getting ready in our Prize Patrol uniforms. This time, in Owego, NY the ground was covered in snow and it was not even 20 degrees, so we needed to bundle up. Next of course was heading to the local florist to get the balloons and flowers. This day we were excited to discover many TV stations there wanting to cover this life-changing story!  We didn’t know it yet, but this PCH winning moment was going to go in the record books as being one of the most touching, as you can see from the following local news coverage:

Once Howie and I had the flowers and balloons ready to go, we headed over to the winner’s home to scope out the scene. We never know what is going to happen!  Will there be cars in the driveway, meaning they might be home?  Will the house look dark, like everyone is out or away?  This time it was hard to tell!  There was a car in the driveway, but it was dark.

After scouting the scene, we quickly touched base around the corner to organize everyone’s plan. With so much media and so many cameras, we want to make sure we know what we’re doing!  Now it was time to go knock on that door, but when the Prize Patrol pulled up to the house we couldn’t believe what we saw. A truck was pulling into the driveway at the exact same time … and it was our winner. So, forget about knocking on the door – the winning moment was happening right there in the driveway!

Carol’s reaction was just priceless. She immediately began to tear up and scream about how happy she was.  After spending multiple hours every single day for four years applying for sweepstakes, Carol Guiles was surprised at her home in Owego by the Prize Patrol with $2.5 Million!

Carol and her husband support themselves and 5 of her grandchildren on just $2,000 a month. Now with $2.5 Million, the Guiles family doesn’t have to worry and can live comfortably. “I dreamt, ‘Oh please lord, somebody’s got to help me,’ because we didn’t know if we were going to be able to keep our home or not. We were having financial troubles, it’s hard,” she said. Carol plans on paying off her mortgage and outstanding bills and then buying a new truck and new convertible for herself and her husband. Soon after the initial surprise, Carol called her kids and they came to congratulate their mother, and you could see how relieved everyone was to finally be out of financial troubles.

So yes, REAL people really do win the PCH Sweepstakes, and Carol is just like all of you reading this. She entered the PCH Sweepstakes in hopes of one day hitting it big.  So, listen to Carol’s advice about not giving up, because the next knock on the door (or surprise in the driveway) could be YOU! Enter today and every day, in as many ways as you can!
