Feel Good Friday Is Here!

Hey everyone! It’s time for a “Feel Good Friday” post, and I’m excited to share with you what my mind turns to when it’s time for the weekend!

If you’ve been following the PCH world for a few years, you may know me as Matt “The Stats Man,” or “Matt the Interviewer” for PCH. While it’s more challenging now to get out on the road, I’ve been blessed to be able to see so many amazing states while doing awesome “Where Are They Now?” interviews with past SuperPrize winners.

But when it’s time for the weekend, I like to put the suitcase away and spend time with my family! My kids are on the younger side, so we use our weekends doing a lot of “firsts!”

Just this past weekend, we visited a local beach here in New York! The weather was very hot, but the winds by the ocean kept it feeling cool. We even climbed a famous lighthouse! My kids were really proud of themselves, and I was proud of them too. They had fun “battling” the giant waves and laughed as their various sand creations got washed out to sea.

If Feel Good Friday were a food, I think it’d look like this!

We then took them out for some classic New York style pizza at one of my favorite pizza places. A day off doesn’t get much better than this!

Then the next day, we took both kids out to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels! It’s been many years since I’ve had to think about how to do this, but thankfully the internet provides a lot of advice when it comes to getting young ones ready to balance on a bicycle! Learning how to do this certainly takes a lot of patience and focus. It reminded me of all of you blog readers, who enter at PCH.com every day with the same dedication and hope!

It may sound like a cliché, but for me EVERY Friday is a “Feel Good Friday.” Since we’ve all been working from home lately, I get to spend a lot of extra time hanging out with my kids. Being able to have practically every meal with them has been a real blessing, and all that time I spent traveling for work has been made up …and then some! Of course, like most people, I’ll be grateful when the world gets back to normal, but for now I’m making the most of every Friday!
