PCH Wins Award from DMEF

PCH wins alongside four distinguished up and coming direct marketers at Rising Star awards ceremony

On Tuesday, June 15th, a group of over 20 PCHers gathered at Bridgewaters restaurant in New York’s South Street Seaport for a gala evening in celebration of PCH’s winning the 2010 Corporate Commitment Award from the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF).

East River Bridges

Against a backdrop of breathtaking views of bridges spanning the East River, a crowd of over 300 direct and interactive marketers assembled to honor the four winners of the DMEF’s 2010 Rising Stars Awards, and the one distinguished company that earned its 2010 Corporate Commitment Award. This award honors companies that regularly demonstrate a commitment to excellence in all areas of direct/interactive marketing education and create a culture that nurtures talent and education both internally and within the broader business community.

At PCH, our employees and officers have a long heritage of service and leadership in both direct marketing industry initiatives and the community at large. Commitment to education, training, and leadership development are an integral part of our company culture. Among the numerous PCH career development initiatives are the company’s monthly “Lunch and Learn” presentations, “Team Connection” cross-functional networking groups, and “PCH U” courses taught by internal subject matter experts, outside facilitators, e-learning, and courses “on demand.” PCH also offers a generous tuition reimbursement plan, college campus recruiting, and a dynamic summer internship program as part of our ongoing efforts to foster the education and development of newcomers to the field of direct/interactive marketing.

Steven Dapper, Chairman of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), presented the award to Publishers Clearing House. As PCH Executive Vice President, I accepted the award on behalf of the company. Gary S. Laben, DMEF chairman, was quoted as saying, “It’s no surprise that PCH – with the core values of educational and leadership development, and initiatives spanning from traditional to innovative – has received this year’s corporate award.”

It was a proud moment to look out across the audience and see so many vendors, business partners and direct/interactive marketing colleagues who turned out to support our award recognition and this event. It was also heart-warming to be well-represented by our family of fellow PCHers.

Here are photos of some of the PCHers who attended the dinner. (I’m the one holding the award.)

The trophy itself is a sleek crystal sculpture engraved with our company’s name and the date we received the DMEF 2010 Corporate Commitment Award. It’s currently on display in the main entrance lobby at the Publishers Clearing House headquarters in Port Washington, NY. This is where we generally show the awards PCH wins.

PCH Wins Award Recognition

All of us here at PCH are very proud to receive this award recognition and we’re proud to support such a worthy cause as the DMEF, too!

Sincerely,

Deborah Holland
