Words With A Publishers Clearing House Winner – Fran Chargar

We all know that the Prize Patrol will go wherever the newest $1,000,000.00 Publishers Clearing House winner lives, whether it’s the Alaskan tundra or the mountains of Colorado.

So when the latest randomly selected winner was just an hour or so drive from the Publishers Clearing House headquarters, they could hardly believe their luck! Winner Fran Chargar received $1,000,000.00 plus $10,000.00 A Year for Life! See her winning moment below!

As you can see, Fran was pretty shocked. I’ve interviewed countless winners, and I don’t know if anyone is ever 100% prepared to become a Publishers Clearing House winner.  I asked her to describe how she feels now that the dust has all settled.

“This is much more money than I’ve had before!,” she confessed dryly.

Fran was certainly grateful for her big win, and she’s crossing every “T” and dotting every “I”.

“I have a brother-in-law who is a tax attorney, and he’ll work out the particulars.  It comes in handy!”

We asked some of our blog readers to submit questions for Fran, and two readers both asked how often Fran had been playing!  Fran’s been entering for 2 years, mainly playing games, and just sort of plays what she feels like playing!

“I’ve been entering for two years, playing games. I don’t know what my favorite is, but whatever strikes me at the time. But I didn’t expect to win!”

Another blog reader asked what Fran’s initial reaction was when she saw the Prize Patrol. Fran immediately recognized Todd as she pulled up to her house (where the Prize Patrol had been waiting for about a half hour).

“I saw him, and recognized him. I thought, ‘what’s he doing here?’ It didn’t click! But it’s all sunk in since then. All of the paperwork makes it feel real.”

We asked her what she plans on doing with herself, now that she’s a big Publishers Clearing House winner:

“I plan on moving in the next year. I’m living in a basement apartment, and I want more room for when my grandson visits. I have not splurged on myself at all, though. My kids, my two girls are now telling me, “you at least need rain boots, ma!”

I had a great chat with Fran, and I was excited to see how this prize is going to truly impact her life for the better!
