Follow-up Interview with Ora Gayton, our Newest “Forever” Prize Winner!
On February 26th, history was made! That’s the day that we found our latest Publishers Clearing House winner and awarded our FIFTH $5,000.00 A Week for Life “Forever” Prize! That’s $5,000.00 A Week for Life to the winner, and then after that, $5,000.00 A Week for Life to a beneficiary!
Our lucky recipient was 93-year-old Ora Gayton of Chicago, IL, and while she was surprised (as you can see in her winning moment below), it was still something she was expecting her whole life.
When Ora first started entering in the 1980s, she really wanted to be a Publishers Clearing House winner. A faithful entrant, it was something she took the time to get done as often as she could. A family move to Chicago interrupted her streak a little bit, but soon the busy beautician was back into her routine, and with enthusiasm!
“She would say, ‘I want you to read this!’ I got a letter from Publishers Clearing House!” her daughter Charlene remembers. Charlene was with her mother the day the Prize Patrol showed up, and both were equally happy to see the Prize Patrol.
We asked Ora if she had any immediate plans for the money, and we’re sure you can see she has a good idea!
“We’ve been talking to some doctors so see what can be done to help my eyesight.”
“I’m also working on getting her a passport,” says Charlene. “We want to go on a cruise, see some ports, that sort of thing. And we’re also looking into giving her an upgrade to her living environment. A different space and better furnishings.”
Ora chose Rich (Charlene’s son) to be the beneficiary of the $5,000.00 A Week Forever Prize. He was more than a little surprised (“actually a LOT surprised,” says Charlene), but at the end of the day, getting $5,000.00 A Week for Life is something that “won’t be hard to do!”
Of course, people are now asking Ora one important question:
“Everybody wants me to tell them how to be a Publishers Clearing House winner! I tell them it’s a mystery to me! Just keep playing. That’s all you got to do! You can’t give up…you got to keep on going!”
Ora’s story is a reminder that it’s never too late to for fate to make your dreams come true. And now she can rest a little easier knowing she can leave her family a legacy!
If that’s something you want for your own life, make sure you’re entering every chance you get! You never know when it’s going to finally be your time!
