Let’s get started.
How to Play Mahjong
If you’ve never played the game before, mahjong is a tile-based game where players are attempting to convert all 14 of their tiles into four sets of three, as well as one pair. This is done via drafting and exchanging tiles from one’s hand with those in a pool in the center of a table.
This is the general gist of the game and glosses over some rules, but learning how to play mahjong in full can be a fun and rewarding experience.
However, given that traditional mahjong typically requires four players, playing mahjong solitaire online is a bit of a different animal.
Playing Mahjongg with PCH
When it comes to the PCH games mahjongg variants, learning to play is a bit different than with the tabletop version of the game.
When learning how to play Mahjongg with PCH, it is important to understand that you are not creating three sets and a pair. Instead, you are simply attempting to match available tiles to remove them from the board and clear the board as quickly as possible. A tile is only available if there are no other tiles on top of it and at least one side is free. In other versions of our Mahjongg solitaire games, such as Mahjongg Minute 3D, tiles must each have two adjacent sides free.
Matching games like PCH’s mahjongg can be exciting and challenging. If you are looking for some tips to win mahjongg, here are some inside secrets:
Tip #1: Use the Hints and Shuffle Buttons
Some of our mahjongg games feature a “Hints” button. If you are having trouble making matches, don’t hesitate to hit it! Doing so will highlight two tiles for you to match.
However, hints are only available in some versions of mahjongg, such as Mahjongg Minute.
That said, all of our mahjongg games have a “Shuffle” button that will allow you to mix up the tiles on the screen. This can be very useful when you can’t find a match.
Tip #2: Increase Your Score with Bonus Tiles
In many of our mahjongg solitaire games there are bonus tiles. While bonus tiles won’t help you clear the board any faster, they will give your score a considerable boost, so be sure to match tiles with the word “Bonus” written across them whenever they appear.
Alternatively, you can also score bonus points by matching identical pairs back-to-back.
Either way, you are sure to rack up more points using this nifty strategy.
Tip #3: Always Have Fun
Remember, playing these matching games is about having fun. If you ever feel stressed out or frustrated, take a break and try again later.
