$10,000 Sweepstakes Winner Saw Good Luck Coming
On the morning of November 3 Colette Wallace, the newest $10,000 sweepstakes winner, saw a brown moth fluttering around her Texas home. It didn’t bother her – as it might some folks – because in the Philippine Islands, Colette’s native land, this particular sight is a sign of imminent good luck. Still she didn’t think much about it as she and an associate drove off to take care of some business matters.
Well, that moth turned out to be just what Colette had been praying for: Good Luck – in the form of a surprise visit from America’s most welcome drop-in guests, the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol. But the sweepstakes prize delivery didn’t go quite so smoothly.
After spending a few minutes knocking on the door and ringing the bell – with no one answering, we were about to leave Colette’s house and come back later. I was just starting to put all our stuff back in the Prize Patrol van when a truck pulled in and a small, plucky woman jumped out. Her mouth fell open and her hands went up as she suddenly realized, “You’re Dave Sayer! I’ve seen you on TV and your photo in PCH mailings for years!”
Once we confirmed that she was indeed Colette Wallace, I unveiled the Big Check – with her name on it – and announced “You’ve just won a $10,000 sweepstakes – from Publishers Clearing House!”
“I can’t believe it!” Colette cried as the video camera recorded the presentation of roses, balloons and champagne. Her associate Steve stood by – flabbergasted but clearly recalling that she had entered our sweepstakes – both by mail and at pch.com – for decades.
Local TV stations were also present to capture the “$10,000 winning moment” and broadcast it on the evening news to their huge Dallas/Fort Worth audiences. As you can see in the photo of Colette and me, she was one happy winner!
I don’t know if you believe in brown moths or other “good luck” signs that get you all excited and optimistic. Whether you do or not, enter the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes right now by clicking on this link to pch.com. And enter every chance you get – just like Colette did — and you’ll have a better chance of winning AND welcoming the Prize Patrol to your door.
Wishing you the very best of luck.
