Behind The Scenes With The PCH Prize Patrol At Family Feud!

Last Updated: April 8, 2013

Hi there! I hope you caught Todd, Dave and Danielle of the PCH Prize Patrol on the Family Feud this past week. I made sure I taped it so I could see my coworkers ― the famous Prize Patrol ― starring on a show I grew up watching.

What an amazing experience it must have been to be on one of America’s most iconic game shows and award prizes on national TV ― $160,000.00 to the Hutchinson family and $20,000.00 to the runner-ups, the Wooley family!

I thought our readers might like to find out more about what was going on when the cameras weren’t rolling, so I asked Danielle to give us the scoop from behind the scenes!

Elaina: Did you watch Family Feud when you were growing up?
Danielle: YES! I used to watch it all the time. I’ve always loved game shows.

Elaina: What do you like best about the Feud?
Danielle: I think it’s fascinating to see what answers contestants come up with. It may look easy when you’re sitting on the couch watching TV, but it seems much harder when the cameras are rolling!

Elaina: Tell me a little bit about the experience…
Danielle: Working with the Family Feud staff was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. The feeling of being on set was like joining a family for a fun party. The Prize Patrol even got to go behind the scenes and see how the audio/visual equipment works. On top of the fantastic cast and crew, the audience was incredible ― such amazing energy!

Elaina: I understand there was a PCH fan on hand for the taping.
Danielle: YES! For the first time ever, we ran a contest on the PCH Fan Page on Facebook  for a fan to win a trip for two to see a taping of the Family Feud and meet the Prize Patrol. Our winner, Danny, brought his brother-in-law to the show and they were treated like stars. They had front row seats and even had lunch with the whole cast and crew.

Elaina: What was it like to meet Steve Harvey?
Danielle: I always assumed Steve Harvey would be nice. But when I met him, I could not believe how nice he really was. He was so welcoming and kind … it was a great experience!

Elaina: What was your most memorable moment?
Danielle: The whole experience was so great, it’s hard to pick one. I would say the most memorable moment was seeing the look on the Big Money Tournament winner’s faces when they realized how much money they won. You know I love those “winning moments!”

Well there you have it folks! Hope you enjoyed this special behind the scenes look. The PCH Prize Patrol has been on Family Feud … The Price Is RightLet’s Make A Deal… and other popular shows. Where will the Prize Patrol pop up next on your television? Stay tuned to find out!

All the best,
Elaina R.
