Florists Do A Lot More Than Prepare A Dozen Roses!
Very often when planning our Prize Patrol trips, we call ahead to the local florists to pre-order the dozen roses for the PCH winners. We’ll tell the florist who we are and why we need to pick up the flowers on an exact day and time. Sometimes they believe it’s the PCH Prize Patrol and sometimes they don’t. I’ve seen both reactions when we show up in person the day of our sweepstakes prize award presentation. As you might imagine, the faces of the unbelievers are much more fun to see!
I’ve also learned just how important these florists are to the towns they live and work in. They’re a virtual hub of information, always the first to know what’s going on in their town, and often know a lot of people in the area (which is why we have to keep the winner’s name top secret, even from them!). Sometimes they even help us get in touch with the local media to invite them to come and cover the story.
Flowers are—if you’ll pardon the pun—a “perennial” gift on pretty much every special occasion. So when we show up in their shops and take the time to meet them and tell them about our special surprise prize award job that day, they are always so happy to know their flowers will be given to someone in such a wonderful circumstance.
Sometimes we’ll even invite the florists to follow the Prize Patrol Van to the PCH Winner so they can watch the winning moment as it happens. That way they get to see the actual presentation of the dozen roses they worked so hard to prepare!
So we’d just like to send out a huge THANK YOU to the florists of America! You truly are a beautiful bouquet of benevolence!
We’d also like to encourage you to play the PCH contest to try for our $10 Million SuperPrize. If you win, you’ll be the next lucky winner to get a Big Check, balloons and a dozen roses in your PCH Moment.
Good luck!
