Sparkling Winning Moments

Last Updated: October 4, 2013

Winning moments become even more sparkling with the addition of Prize Patrol champagne!

Between the bouquets of balloons and roses, the cameras, the paperwork and The Big Check, our PCH Prize Patrol has its hands full when we approach a soon-to-be-shocked sweepstakes winner’s door. But we love to cause a celebration; so we don’t mind being loaded down. And what adds to the fun and surprise on top of the mind-blowing huge sweepstakes prize? A bottle of “vintage” Prize Patrol champagne. We say vintage because it carries an artistic label designed back in 1989 by our PCH Art Department. That’s when we decided that a little “bubbly” could only enhance some of our videotaped winning moments (which you can see at PCHTV.com).

Since we can’t carry big bottles of champagne (or, as they say, “any liquids, gels or aerosols”) on-board the planes that fly us to most Prize Patrol destinations, in preparation for winning moments, we purchase the champagne from a local retailer, then apply the peel-and-stick label that you see below. (Note the 1989 van on the label. Van design has gotten quite a bit snazzier since then.)

Now it’s true that some winners don’t partake of alcoholic beverages and say “We’ll just keep it on the shelf — as a reminder of a most memorable day.” And sometimes we can’t buy champagne – because of local laws, or there’s no such retailer for miles around, or there’s a “Closed” sign on the door. But we try our best to bring along a bottle to all winning moments because popping the cork and taking a celebratory swig never fails to produce a chorus of cheers and a joyful coda to the videotaped event.

How would you like to be at the center of such festivities as a Publishers Clearing House winner? You may be thinking, “THAT will never happen.” Well, lots of winners used to think that too. Nonetheless, they entered and HALLELUJAH – they WON! Just like YOU can.

Just go to pch.com where you can enter the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes online – not just today but every day to increase your chances of winning.

Toasting you with a wish that the next winning moment may be yours!
