#WinnerWednesday: Les S. Has Been Entering For Years – And It Paid Off!
This Washington winner was truly a pleasure for all to be around. Les was at home reading when the Prize Patrol arrived. He opened the door with a smile on his face and gave us a very warm “hello”. He knew why we were there but the shock of it all set in as Loren flipped the Big Checks around. He instantly said, “I can’t believe it – I’ll take the cash!”
Les has been entering since 1971 and has never given up; he even played today. He loves the “one where you drive the car around the neighborhood”, he said, “it’s my favorite game”. We were joined shortly by his lovely neighbors who were thrilled to see the Prize Patrol out front – one of whom was also entering this morning. Les stays active walking around his neighborhood every day; “I walk about 3 miles a day”.
“I never thought I’d win but, you never know,” Les said. He plans to use the money to pay some bills and help his son with his mortgage. Les was in the US Navy for 22 ½ years, then worked for an aerospace company for about 20 years, and is now a driving instructor. Our friendly #PCHwinner invited the neighbors over for some champagne later today and wants all the PCH fans out there to know that “you gotta keep playing because maybe you’ll win, it could happen”.
