Common Publishers Clearing House Misspellings Revealed!

Greetings, fans and friends!

How do you spell Publishers Clearing House?

Publisher’s Clearing House

Publish Clearing House.
Even Publishers Cleaning House!

We see lots of misspellings of the Publishers Clearing House name – maybe that’s why it’s so much easier to say “PCH”! As William Shakespeare once said, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet.”  And the millions of winners we’ve made over the past 60-plus years know that winning is just as sweet no matter how you spell the company’s name!

Yes, I understand – using spellcheck is not a priority in this fast-paced world of ours, and if your smartphone chooses the word “Publisher’s” instead of “Publishers,” we won’t bat an eye.

But there is one situation where we – and where YOU – should be concerned about seeing the Publishers Clearing House name spelled incorrectly – and that is when scammers misrepresent our company.

Beware of PCH Scammers!

Often, scammers pretending to be from the real PCH use poor spelling when they communicate with the individuals they intend to scam. Sometimes the scammers misspell their words to trick their victims, who are so excited to hear from “PCH” they won’t notice the poor spelling, grammar or punctuation. And sometimes, scammers claiming to be representatives of PCH or the PCH Prize Patrol misspell their words because they operate from foreign countries where English is not the native language!

My point is, beware of scams on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter! If you receive a friend request from someone claiming to be from the PCH Prize Patrol, or from some other representative of PCH claiming that you’ve won a prize from us, IGNORE it! Do not respond to it! Instead, please fill out our online Scam Incident Report and let PCH know all about it.

How Do You Spell “Winning Opportunities”? Publishers Clearing House!

I get it. My name is Debra, and the lady sitting behind me is Deborah, as is the lady sitting on the other side of the room I’m in right now. I work with a Michele with one “L” and a Michelle with two “L”s. And in my life I’ve known a Karen, a Karin, a Caryn,  and a Carin (plus I own socks designed by Donna Karan!).

Just the same, there are many spelling variations of “Publishers Clearing House”. But no matter how you spell it, PCH is the House Where Dreams Come True.
