It’s April Fools Day! But PCH Scams Are No Joke!
Don’t be fooled by scammers pretending to be from PCH today or any day!
Greetings, fans and friends, and Happy April Fools Day!
What an odd (but fun) holiday this is – a time for pulling pranks on others and spreading hoaxes! There are plenty of April Fools pranks you can play on your friends and family – in fact, I saw some great ones by searching at PCHSearch&Win!
There’s one nasty prank some very devious people pull all year long – it’s when dishonest people pretend to be representatives of PCH or members of our famous Prize Patrol. This is not a funny prank, my friends … this is a hurtful and potentially costly scam!
PCH scams are no joke! That’s why PCH, in conjunction with law enforcement authorities around the country, are doing everything possible to keep YOU safe from scammers!
So, whether it’s April Fools Day or any day at all, please be sure to follow these important safety tips:
- PCH NEVER notifies major prize winners by phone!
If you ever receive a phone call from someone claiming you’ve won a major prize from Publishers Clearing House, it’s not real, it’s a scam!
- PCH NEVER asks winners to send money in order to claim a prize!
We will never ask you to wire money, provide credit card information, or purchase a prepaid card in order for you to claim your “prize award.” We mean it when we say that at Publishers Clearing House, the winning is always FREE! The real PCH would NEVER ask you to pay a fee in order to claim a prize!
- PCH NEVER sends friend requests on Facebook!
And, we will NEVER contact you on Twitter, Instagram or any other social media site.
- PCH NEVER emails, texts or sends private messages announcing that you’ve won a major prize.
So, what do you do if you think you’ve been contacted by a scammer claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House? Immediately report it using our online scam form!
Remember, too, when posting comments on this blog, the PCH Search & Win Blog, or the PCH Play & Win Blog, NEVER report any personal information such as your address or phone number, or even the name of your town. NEVER provide bank information of any kind!
At PCH, we want all consumers to stay safe and protected. PCH scams are no joke … and the real fools are those fraudulent scammers who illegally use our company name!
Stay safe!
