Big Checks and Big Hearts
When someone is no longer employed – either for reasons of health, company downsizing or retirement — what could be more welcome than a visit from the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol — with roses, balloons and a Big Check?
Just ask Colleen and Wendy. They will tell you just how welcome recent Prize Patrol visits were for them.
We found out-of-work Colleen Kohler in her Portland, Oregon apartment playing – guess what! — Spider Solitaire on PCH Games. Why not? It’s fun, and provides chances to win money – definitely in short supply in Colleen’s case. Shocked and excited she kept saying “Are you serious?” The good news finally sunk in, and it took her several phone tries to reach her boyfriend at the gym – who couldn’t believe it either.
We were lucky to find Colleen at home in a rare moment of relaxation. She is often on the go, regularly back and forth to family members whom she helps in important ways. And she says at last she can afford new car tires — one of which needed air twice a week!
The next day we were in Albuquerque, New Mexico and found Wendy Daugherty not working — for medical reasons. She was absolutely shocked to open the door and see the Prize Patrol there. Immediately she phoned the good news to husband Mark and son Brian at a nearby hospital where they work. They refused to believe her until she texted them a photo of the ecstatic “winning moment.”
Wendy has been entering the PCH Sweepstakes for over twenty years — every day in more recent times. Her prize money will allow her to pay bills in full and give to local charities. Big-hearted Wendy says “My favorite goal is to go to my son’s old school and pay off past-due lunch money for [needy] families.”
While in Albuquerque, I visited Kathleen Fleitz, a PCH winner who has kept in touch with me regularly since her “winning moment” six years ago. Talk about big heartedness! Kay is retired from a varied career and tutors needy kids from her neighborhood – because she is dedicated to making sure our youth are as well educated as they can be.
Each of these three people won Big Checks worth $10,000.00. While not giant SuperPrizes, the blessings of these awards will continue to abound through these winners’ generous spirits. We are proud to include them in our huge and ever-growing family of winners.
Enter the PCH Sweepstakes every chance you get – like these winners did – and you could join our family too!
Wishing you the best of luck.
