Meet Betty Patchett, Our Newest PCH Winner of $1 Million Plus!
What could be more exciting to receive three days before Christmas but a visit from Santa’s helpers — the PCH Prize Patrol! — with a Million Dollar SuperPrize!
Well, Betty Patchett (from a little town in Michigan) can tell you! Or maybe she can’t. When asked how she felt at the “winning moment,” she turned abnormally speechless, admitting that she usually talks “with a million words but I can’t think of anything.”
The excitement didn’t end with one Big Check. Betty was presented with a “bonus” Big Check worth another $10,000 A Year for Life!
Astonishment and cheers erupted from co-workers at the public school bus depot where Betty, a retired employee of a teachers’ union in Michigan, is training to be a driver. Looking as if she might faint from the shock of a lifetime, Betty still managed to display her trademark sense of humor. When handed the bouquet of roses, she asked if they would squirt her in the face. When the TV cameras started moving in she gave her hair a quick coif and channeled the old “Sunset Boulevard” movie saying “Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up.” You can see her dumbfounded reaction by clicking on this YouTube link.
Betty was too unprepared to say what she will do with her newfound affluence. But she has major veterinary bills following cat and dogs’ ailments, plus she’d like to donate money to her church and to the high school band’s instrument fund. After that, who knows!
Betty has been entering the PCH Sweepstakes for several years and enjoys magazines and products she has purchased from time to time.
Congratulations, Betty, and welcome to our huge and ever-growing family of winners! And to the rest of you: “Keep the faith,” “Don’t give up” and enter the PCH Sweepstakes every chance you get — and YOU could be a winner too!
