Do People Actually Win with Publishers Clearing House?

Despite the fact that Publishers Clearing House’s history stretches all the way back to 1953 and we have been running some of the most popular sweepstakes in the nation since 1967, there are still scores of folks who wonder:

Do people win Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes, giveaways, and prizes?

To spoil the big surprise, the answer is unequivocally yes, people do indeed win. The truth is that thousands of people have won big with PCH. In fact, we have awarded over $553 million in cash prizes since 1967, and we are still handing oversized, multi-million dollar checks to blessed PCH fans to this very day. Just take a look at our recent PCH winners list!

Moreover, even if people are still in the dark about the life-changing opportunities that PCH offers, they likely still have important questions, such as:

  • How are Publishers Clearing House winners notified?
  • How does Publishers Clearing House pay their winners?
  • How am I supposed to fit this big check into the ATM machine?

Okay, that last one’s a joke.

All kidding aside, today, we are going to clarify some of your most important PCH questions, such as those listed above.

With the most important one of “do people win Publishers Clearing House?” out of the way, let’s go ahead and tackle the other two queries.

How Are Publishers Clearing House Winners Notified?

If you are going to play PCH games and enter into our amazing giveaways, it is critical to ensure that you understand how Publishers Clearing House Winners are notified so that you can protect yourself against PCH impersonator scams.

As it stands, there are a couple of different ways that PCH winners are notified. First, if you have been awarded a prize of $10,000 or less, we might opt to notify you via overnight express carriers such as UPS, FedEx or USPS Express Mail or possibly via email.

That said, our major prize and SuperPrize winners will never receive an email. Instead, these folks are notified live and in person by our world-famous Prize Patrol so that we can be there with you during your big moment and capture it all on film!

Also, it is important to be aware that there are never any strings attached to winning with PCH. Therefore, if you are asked for any bank information, fees, taxes, or charges of any kind, it is likely a scam that you should report to Publishers Clearing House.

Knowing that, let’s take a quick peek at some folks who were recently surprised in-person by our Prize Patrol.

Big PCH Winners

In the past several months, numerous PCH fans have gotten that life-changing knock at their door, including Ralph, a Hawaiian resident, who received a big check of $100,000 from our Prize Patrol.

Just a few months later, we handed out 10 times that amount to our friend Mark Adair, who won $1 million on April 1st, 2022. Thankfully for him, it wasn’t an April fool’s joke.

These are just two of the thousands of lives that have been transformed by playing PCH.

Here is how you can potentially join Ralph and Mark in the PCH winner’s circle.

  1. Publishers clearing house , I haven’t won anything big and I’ve been a constant enter since 2002. Pch I haven’t won even a gift card of any kind redeeming tokens for a very long time ? You can win unless you enter is the saying but I can’t win playing either? 🤔

  2. Why don’t all the online search for different amounts have the drawing dates on them? I wish you would put those dates on all the different search’s that are Emailed.

  3. Currently, we are staying in a hotel for the next 5 days, and after we get our deposit back, we will move to the new house. Until then, we do not have an address, but not a permanent address$$$$$37@gmail.com

  4. Can you win multiple times? For example, if you win an instant win of 500 dollars, are you less likely to win the superprize or weekly grand prize?

    1. Hi Molly! If you were to become one of our winners, it would not affect your account. You can continue to enter and enjoy our sweepstakes and all they have to offer. While we haven’t had any duplicate winners for major prizes, we’ve had quite a few repeat winners of smaller prizes. This is why we encourage our fans to enter as often as they can. There’s no way to know who our next winner will be; winners are all selected randomly. Keep trying and don’t give up. 1. Hi Juliette! PCH and the Prize Patrol do not take awarding winners lightly; it’s very important to all of us that a winner is found and awarded their prize. If a winner is not home, the Prize Patrol will do whatever it takes to locate them. Rest assured, if you are our lucky winner, you will receive your award. On giveaway days we encourage everyone to go about business as usual. With that being said, there are many times that the Prize Patrol has surprised winners at their place of employment. They’ve also found winners in hospitals, at church, even on vacation! Check out this FAQ for more info about winners not being home: http://bit.ly/If-Winner-Not-Home

    1. Hi Alton! Please report all contacts from scammers to PCH via this link: http://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH. PCH does partner with the Federal Trade Commission and we send all scam reports to them so please make sure you let us know anytime a scammer contacts you. Remember, the real PCH never notifies major prize winners via phone, standard mail, email, or social media, and we never ask winners to pay to claim their prize. You can see more Safety Tips here: https://bit.ly/FraudProtection2. Please be careful everyone; don’t become a scammer’s victim.
