2013 Year in Review Prize Patrol

Hey PCH Fans!

It’s hard to believe that another winning year is almost over! SO many great things have happened here at Publishers Clearing House in 2013 that on this Throwback Thursday, we just want to take the time to reflect on some of our favorite moments. We awarded MILLIONS of dollars just this year alone, and are SO glad we were able to keep making dreams come true for folks like you all over the country!

Before I get into the moments that really touched our hearts this year, I wanted to talk to the people who were there for all of it, the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol Elite! When I asked Prize Patrol Member Danielle Lam what was her favorite moment of the year, she said it had to be the winning moment of our February 28th $1 Million SuperPrize Winner Elise Gutierrez! Danielle told me, “Not long before the Prize Patrol showed up at her door, her house was wrecked by Hurricane Isaac. The water in her home was so high that there were minnows and snakes swimming around in her living room! I was so happy that we were able to help her recover from that tragedy.”

That must have been a really touching experience to really help someone who has gone through so much. I can see why it’s one of Danielle’s favorites!

But Elise wasn’t the only BIG winner of 2013. We had not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 other major SuperPrize awards too! If you can remember, these prizes were delivered to Glenda Dancy, Sherry Seltman, Connie Kiesser and our big “Forever” Prize winner Michael Miller!

But we didn’t stop there! Here at Publishers Clearing House, we award A LOT more than just SuperPrizes, and in 2013 the Prize Patrol delivered a TON of prizes ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 as well! Remember there was Michelle Curtis, Virginia Hall, Brandon King, Gilbert Serf Jr., Greg Garcia, Eric Schroeder, Melody Bingham, Alvin Roundtree, Tria Lo, Pam Carlson, Shermoya Armstrong, and our first winner of 2013, Bonnie Wines!

Despite having a super busy year, the Prize Patrol also found time to make appearances on both “The Price Is Right” and “Let’s Make A Deal”!

And let’s not forget about The Give Back! In addition to making dreams come true for thousands of winners, big and small, Publishers Clearing House also made dreams come true for 3 amazing charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The USO (United Service Organizations), and The ASPCA® (American Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty to Animals®).

WOW! 2013 certainly has been a WINNING YEAR for Publishers Clearing House. It’s hard to think that all of these amazing things happened in just one year! I don’t know about all of you, but I’m excited to see what Publishers Clearing House has in store for 2014. We’ll be giving you a special sneak peek right here on the PCH Blog tomorrow, so be sure to come back for the preview! Here’s a hint: it’s going to be AMAZING!
