The much-anticipated PCH Pay Day is right around the corner with only a few days left to enter, and the Prize Patrol couldn’t be more excited. I have been doing big prize awards for 10 years and at this point, have big prize day prep down to a science! I want to give you all a little behind-the-scenes look at what I personally do to make sure the big day runs as smoothly as possible even before we know who the big winner is!

Being a woman who loves fashion, I always make sure to have a Prize Patrol bag packed and ready to go for any prize award, and I’m especially ready for the BIG PCH SuperPrize we’re about to award in just two days from now, on April 26th.

BUT how do I pack when I have no idea where the winner is yet? Well, I pack 2 bags. Yes, you read that right. I actually have 2 Prize Patrol luggage roller bags packed at all times. One’s my “nice weather” bag and the other is my “nasty weather” bag. It’s April, after all, and those April showers may bring May flowers … but also a pretty drenched Danielle Lam!

• Nice weather? The classic Prize Patrol blazer with a skirt and blouse (or the newer Prize Patrol dress) is definitely in there (with a nice pair of heels), along with comfortable tee shirts and jeans for travel.

• Nasty weather? A raincoat and umbrella plus a pair of rain boots will be packed, along with some cozy sweaters for airport travel. And waterproof mascara is a must!

A little fun Prize Patrol fact – we never check our luggage. We’re always prepared to travel with a carry-on just in case we have a tight layover and to avoid any travel mishaps. At this point Dave, Howie and I are packing pros!

In that luggage we always have to leave room for the coveted “PCH Winner Folder” that holds the winner paperwork, letters from executives, a PCH Q&A, and most importantly, the REAL check (another reason we will never check our luggage – imagine that getting lost in the airport!?).

The Prize Patrol also always has a Van Sign ready to go because we can’t forget that! Each of the Prize Patrol members has one ready to go at all times. Why? Because, contrary to popular belief, we don’t have one van that is driven all over the country. We rent a van in the winner’s area and place the sign on it wherever we need to be in the country!

The Prize Patrol cannot wait to find out who the HUGE SuperPrize winner is just two days from now. Plus, with all the extra prizes during PCH Pay Day and knowing there will be winners across the country, we can barely contain our excitement!
