New Publishers Clearing House Winner — Crowd Cheers PCH SuperPrize Winner

Hi, this is Natalie again. I’m the August 2008 winner of $1 Million from Publishers Clearing House and boy, what a thrilling day I’ve had as I got to relive the ecstasy of my own PCH winning moment, through the joy of a new PCH SuperPrize winner.

It all started when this morning I rolled out of bed in Miami, Florida and met the PrizePatrol at a McDonald’s near our next $1 Million SuperPrize winner’s home. I could hardly sleep the night before knowing that today I would be traveling with the PrizePatrol to change someone’s life forever. We hopped in the van at 10:15 a.m. and walked up to the door with our signature big check, balloons and flowers in hand. The level of excitement I was experiencing was almost too much to handle.

We knocked on the door of our newest PCH winner, Marilyn Ragin of Opa Locka Florida, and her husband opened it. The first words out of his mouth were, “You’ve got the wrong person.” That’s because he knew his wife was the one who filled out all the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes entries. He told us she was out to lunch at a local seniors’ center and so we decided to surprise her there.

The crowd was very excited when they saw us enter the room. But, when Marilyn realized we had a million dollar check with her name on it she screamed and got very emotional. I must admit so did I. It was an incredible PCH winning moment, that you may want to watch, too, on PCHTV.com.

Being on the giving end of the PCH Sweepstakes is an experience I’ll never forget, and I want to thank PCH from the bottom of my heart for finding yet another way to change my life forever.

Tomorrow I’m heading back to my home state to keep the luck rolling as I help to deliver $10,000 to another big winner. I can’t wait to see how this one unfolds!

Sincerely,

Natalie Bostelman

’08 $1Million Winner

Just watched the winning moment of the new Superprize winner. Usually I get emotional but the winners excited scream of joy made me laugh with happiness for her. Sweet life begins…
You are simply great in making new beginnings, PCH. More power to you all.
I suppose you have more footage to show of Dave’s and the patrol crew’s interaction with Marilyn?

The $10 Million prize is being carried over to the official end date of February 29, 2012 as the Sneak Peek for that prize did not return a winning entry this time.

So we have to wait until 2012 before that prize is decided?
Does this mean everyone still has a chance to win? What exactly does that mean?

We may be taking another special early look to see if an eligible matching winning number has been returned, in which case the prize may be awarded before the giveaway end of February 29, 2012, if so claimed.

it sounds like a big run around to me the same thing goes for the two week prizes. so what’s going on. you say you may be taking another look, but is that the truth. or doesn’nt pch have enough money to pay the 10,000,000 to one lucky winner. maybe you people are taking trips at other peoples expences and not telling the truth… or was the 10,000,000 split up? so now everybody else needs to wait for 2/29/2012 not fair to anybody.

PCH guarantees to award the $10 Million prize by giveaway end. The giveaway is registered in the states of NY and FL and surety bonds have been purchased to assure adequate funds will be available to award the prize. So far, PCH has already awarded 2 $1 Million prizes as a result of “Special Early Looks” to see if a matching winning number was returned yet. That means that at least $12 Million in prizes will have been awarded by giveaway end in 2012. In addition, two very lucky PCH winners got to enjoy huge cash sweepstakes prizes early — before giveaway end.

Hi Lori,
Winners are selected via random drawing from all eligible entries. In order to win a prize award at PCH, one would need to return their entry by the specified deadline date and have it selected as a winner. Please keep in mind that we will not know who the winner of that prize is until the drawing date. The Prize Patrol always likes to surprise our winners so we do not tell a winner they have won ahead of time.

Sorry to hear of it Renee. I have been sending in to the contest for around 12 yr. So what are they giving away in May? anything or did all that change too. To many changes. Do they really have the millions to give away or just hoping to sell enough before the drawing to do it. Is that why the date keeps getting pushed back. In 2012 there may not be any money at all. We may be back to the trading system. So who ever wins may end up with chickens or corn. :-)

We are having a draw for a $1,000 prize (Giveaway No. 1559) on May 31, 2010. We are also taking an Early Look for a $1-Million prize (Giveaway No. 1400) on that date. If a matching winning number is not returned for the Early Look drawing, the giveaway will revert back to its original end date of February 29, 2012.

There is definitely something fishy about these prize giveaways for sure. I used to put entries into the $10 million superprize around 2 years ago over and over, I had a TON on entries, and back in ’07 it claimed the prize winner would be announced around Feb. of ’09. Now it’s 2012? I just feel like PCH sometimes provides people with false hope, dangling that money around and talking about how wonderful it would be to have no financial worries. Plus, if someone wins, they are usually elderly, and I am very happy for those that win, but the elderly are more likely to pass on, and I’m not sure where the rest of the money goes but if they can’t spend it does their family get the rest or does that mean PCH doesn’t have to provide the rest of the money? Because I know the $10 million isn’t given in one lump sum, so what happens to the rest of the payments if the winner cannot receive them?

[REPLY TO THIS POST]
Deborah Holland said...

Hi John,
We have many different draws throughout the sweepstakes period. Each entry enters you into one or more draws with potentially different end dates. Your entry may also list an “Advanced Look” date for a major prize award.
In the event of an “Advanced Look”, a SuperPrize number is drawn and, if the winning entry has been returned, the prize is awarded. If the winning number was not returned, the prize rolls over to the next draw date. If the prize is not awarded on any of the “Advanced Look” draw dates, the prize will be awarded on the end date specified in the Sweepstakes Facts.
To determine which draws you are entering, when their end dates are and what your odds of winning are, please review the “Sweepstakes Facts” pamphlet that came with your entry or click on the “Sweepstakes Facts” link on your online entry form.
In the unfortunate event of a winner’s demise, the winning payments are made to the estate. The payments will continue in the very same manner that they were made to the winner.

Dear Ms. Holland and Mr. Sayer,
I would be delighted to meet both of you here in Washington, DC. You have never chosen a winner in this district. I would love to pay off lots of debts…as a school counselor/teacher I am still paying college loans after 15 years…with the interest it’s crazy. Anyway, I am praying that I am the next winner…like everyone else I would love to pay off debts, help ageing parents and give back to my school.

Never give up on your hopes and dreams–that’s what I tell my students.

      Hi Alfredo,

Unfortunately, the winning number was not returned in this “Advanced Look” drawing, therefore the prize was not awarded at this time. The winner of the $1 million second chance drawing was Mr J. Beane of Las Vegas, NV.

In the case of an “Advanced Look” drawing, a SuperPrize number is drawn and, if the winning entry has been returned, the prize is awarded. If the winning number was not returned, the prize rolls over to the next draw date. If the prize is not awarded on any of the “Advanced Look” draw dates, the prize will be awarded on the end date specified in the Sweepstakes Facts.

Please be assured, if you are one of our lucky winners you will definitely be notified. If you are picked as a winner of a prize of $10,000 or more, you will be notified in person by the Prize Patrol. Prizes of under $10,000 are notified by certified mail or by courier. These awards are done as soon as all winning entries and prizes are matched. Our most recent winners can be found on the top of http://www.pch.com on the scrolling bar and under the “Winners Circle” link. You may also view the winning moment at http://www.pchtv.com.

Publishers Clearing House prides itself on running a fair and honest sweepstakes for over 40 years in which we have awarded in excess of $223 million in prizes across the United States and Canada. We are registered with the Secretary of State in New York and Florida. Many of our winners are just like you. In fact, 47 out of our 57 winners of $1 million or more have done so as a result of a non-order entry. We really mean it when we say that there is no purchase necessary. While our sweepstakes are designed to create interest in our magazine and merchandise offers, it clearly states in all of our mailings that there is no purchase necessary to enter or win any of our sweepstakes.

Our Prize Patrol makes every effort to locate our winners. We haven’t had a situation in over 30 years of awarding prizes where we could not locate our winners. The Prize Patrol would work directly with the Postal Service to locate the owner of the P.O. Box if necessary. We have had winners who live in big cities, small towns, trailer parks, high rise apartments and even the Alaskan tundra and the Prize Patrol has always located the winner.

For future reference, we recommend that you not post personal information on a publicly viewable website, for your protection. We have removed your mailing and home addresses for your protection.

    Hi Barbara,

Please keep in mind that our mailings are opportunities for a chance to win, and provide clear information that the recipient has not yet won any prize, must enter by the deadline, and must be chosen to win. In order to win an entry must be selected by random drawing or match the winning number selected. Please remember that while we receive entries from all across the land only one individual can actually win each giveaway. All PCH prizes of $500 or greater are awarded by either certified mail, or in person by our famous Prize Patrol. These awards are done as soon as all winning entries and prizes are matched.

While we have promoted our famous sweepstakes for over 40 years as a way to draw attention to our unbeatable magazine deals and value-based merchandise offerings no purchase is ever necessary to enter or win. You may be interested to know that the majority of our major prize winners have not ordered with their winning entry! I have been doing this for quite a while now… never ever win anything except another entry form. Thus far, it’s been just a huge waste of time and effort. The odds of winning anything are in the BILLIONS. In other words…. VERY slim. The latest winner has been filing entries since 1997… and she didn’t even get to win the superprize. I wonder over the years how many stamps has she used, useless orders placed, etc. I have read several times that it is not necessary to place an order to win… then a few mailings later see an announcement that only those that place orders can mail in the entry. Which is it? I have also received notices with promises of being 1 of only 3 guaranteed superprize winners… accordingly, I rush to return the entry way before the deadline only to wind up a bonafied LOSER. Brings to mind something P.T. Barnum said “There is a sucker born every minute”. Maybe they will name a new Dum-Dum flavor in my honor?

Since the odds are so astronomical, a person will have better luck playing the state lottery/powerball. At least with the Lotto or Powerball, sometimes a few numbers come up and you can get some money back. OR If you are really lucky, several or all of the numbers will come up. You also have the benefit of a drawing twice a week. Seems like better odds (1 out of 195 million) to me BUT, then again you still have a greater chance of getting struck by lightning!

Hi Im being patient and continue to place my entries in hopes to win. Lost my job while on maturnity leave from down sizing so now unemployed single mom going back to school and wanting to start my own business. Im making it ok and don’t mind earning my money the hard way. But winning the 10 mill would be a god cent. It would get my business off to the start I want and I could help my family and a local animal rescue that is in dier need of a shelter facility. Would so love to donate some money to them to help them get a shelter build so they don’t have to rely soley on foster parents that are so hard to come by. :) To who ever wins it congratulations. Im sure that person is just as deserving as the next person. I buy lotto tickets from time to time as well quick pick and put it in the hands of god. If it is ment to be he will make it happen when it is suppose to. If not there is a lesson he wants u to learn yet.

Good luck to all and god bless.

Hey,
So today is August 31st and the prize patrol only handed out a 1,000,000 check… I thought giveaway 1400 was supposed to be a $5,000 a week for life prize? Will the sweepstakes still run till 2/29/12?

    Hello Kimberly,

As mentioned in the Official Rules provided with the entries for this contest, if there is no winner for the $5,000 A Week For Life, we will have a 2nd chance draw for a guaranteed winner for $1,000,000 from this same giveaway. The winner of $1,000,000 was L. Brown of Granite, IL.

Giveaway 1400 will continue until the official end date of 02/29/12.

    Hello Deborah,

Please be assured, if you are one of our lucky winners you will definitely be notified. If you are picked as a winner of a prize of $10,000 or more, you will be notified in person by the Prize Patrol. Prizes of under $10,000 are notified by certified mail or by courier. These awards are done as soon as all winning entries and prizes are matched. Our most recent winners can be found on the bottom right corner of our web site under the “Winners Circle” link. You may also view some of our winning moments at: http://www.pchtv.com.

Our mailings are opportunities for a chance to win, and provide clear information that the recipient has not yet won any prize, must enter by the deadline, and must be chosen to win. In order to win an entry must be selected by random drawing or match the winning number selected. Please remember that while we receive entries from all across the land only one individual can actually win each giveaway.

While we have promoted our famous sweepstakes for over 40 years as a way to draw attention to our unbeatable magazine deals and value-based merchandise offerings no purchase is ever necessary to enter or win. You may be interested to know that majority of our major prize winners have not ordered with their winning entry!

    Regards,
    Addison @ PCH

    Hi William,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It sounds like you have been the victim of a scam. The offer you’re describing did not come from Publishers Clearing House. PCH does not notify winners by phone. Also, there is never a catch with entering or winning any PCH Sweepstakes. Please keep in mind that PCH, like any legitimate Sweepstakes, will never ask you to pay any fee or make a purchase to claim a prize. You may report this occurrence to us using our toll-free number 1-800-392-4190. We also recommend that you report this incident to the National Fraud Center at http://www.fraud.org.

What do you mean by the prize did not return a winning entry this time. Do I have to respond to something to win?

[REPLY TO THIS POST]
    Victoria At PCH said...

    Hi Jordan,

That means that the number drawn on the day of the special early look did not match the winning number assigned to the giveaway. You can respond to any mailings sent to you for a chance to win. Each mailing contains an entry opportunity.

So they only pick one number and do not continue to pick untile one is chosen? So there is very little chance to win? or are you going to pick again until someone is chosen for the 2012 prize?

[REPLY TO THIS POST]
    Victoria At PCH said...

    Hi Tripp,

The prizes in each giveaway are assigned a number. Each entry is also assigned a number. When PCH draws for a winner, if the entry number does not match the giveaway number, then that entry is not a winner. In a second-chance drawing, the entry number does not have to match the prize number. The next Super Prize giveaway will be in February, 2012! It will be a special early look for a $1,000,000.00 A Year For Life winner with a guaranteed prize of $1,000,000.00!

Today’s 3/1/12…No knock @ my door…I to have played for years. Just like anyone else I really could use the money. 3 sick kid and my self are now homeless and no vechile. I still have to pray even harder for other’s and myself. God bless me with 3 smart kids and well behave. They would be so happy just to have a home no one can take from them. I would be happy with a home & car…Whom ever won may God bless you to bless other’s. Be smart with you winnings.

I don’t see why PCH gives away SO MUCH money to just one person per drawing. If the prizes where smaller and none of this “win for life” stuff, a LOT more people could win. And I honestly think that the people who are already well off shouldn’t be able to play. There are families and individuals who really need this money. And just on a side note: I found a list of winners since ’09 and there where 170 names and their state and winnings. There are only 2 people in that list from AZ… Strange?

So…was that supposed to be “the giveaway end”? Like similar posts from a couple years ago, I was confused to see that the couple who won on February 29, 2012 received a check for $1 million rather than that whole $10 million stuff. Not that $1 million isn’t a WHOLE LOT OF MOOLAH I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE, but am I missing something here? Or did PCH decide to instead give multiple winners a chance at a million instead of one winner at 10 million?

    Victoria At PCH said...

    Hi Chelsea,

The February 29th event was for the $1,000,000.00 A Year For Life prize, not for $10,000,000.00. The $1,000,000.00 A Year For Life was not awarded on February 29th because it was an early look draw, and the matching winning number was not returned. For more information about Special Early Looks, please see this answer in the FAQ: http://pch.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/446/kw/special%20early%20look. The $1,000,000.00 A Year For Life and $10,000,000.00 prizes are part of Giveaway 1830 which doesn’t end until 2/28/2015. PCH has not set another draw date for these prizes as of yet, but stay tuned for updates!

I hate it when “hard luck” stories are posted. Everyone has struggled in life at one time or another. That doesn’t mean PCH should look for the saddest story and award the prize to that person. Some posters don’t like it that older people win. Think that to have been entering for 20 to 30 years you have to be older! Besides that I have been told that most young people say it is a waste of time or that the winners are hired actors. It’s just chance that determines the winner. I don’t like to read those sob stories because there are a lot of us who could write about our sad struggles and beg to be chosen. Some posters must think that the best story wins! I’ll just keep my story to myself and hope that I will win someday.

In public I have submitted entries for nearly all of the Sweepstakes prizes; such as $30,000,000.00, $10,000,000.00, $1,000,000.00 each year for the rest of my life, $5,000.00 a week for the rest of my life plus $5,000.00 after my death to a person I have chose to receive that prize, all the new cars, etc.

In private when praying to my Father in Heaven I have asked him 1) if anyone needs any of the prize money more than I do, please give it all to them and(2) all I would need right now would be about $25,000.00 to pay for some costly dental work that both one of my daughters and I need, but cannot afford. If God gives me nothing, I will still believe in him and thank him for this first experience with PCH.

If it was myself i would most likely have a seizure only because i have epilepsy. But i have an implant for it and my magnets are on my refrigerator so all the person needs to do is to swipe it over the heart area and it will pull me out of the seizure. And yes i do have grand mal’s and right now i am 20 years over due on the grand mal seizure. The one great thing about the implant is that instead of having an hour long seizure it breaks it up into a total of about 5 min’s. And i’m not tired after i have it. Good luck to everyone because we all can use it & please take care & be safe, Luann
