Memorial Day 2013: Publishers Clearing House Honors Military Heroes

Memorial Day 2013 PCH Honors Military Heroes

On this Memorial Day, we at Publishers Clearing House would like to recognize the brave men and women who lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We invite you to help us honor their sacrifice by posting a few words in the comments section below. Perhaps it’s the name of a loved one who was lost in the line of duty … or maybe it’s something you’re grateful for. Together, let’s remember our true American heroes.

“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself”. Joseph Campbell

Once a Marine, always a Marine!
Words from Rod’s heart..
Politicians use many names for war, such as conflict, hostility, antagonism, struggle, and combat. But it all comes down to individuals attempting to kill each other for their countries beliefs or rights. As wrong as it is, it’s how this world operates. All the men and women who have served or entered did so because they all believed in God, country, and the safety of their fellow man, woman and children, so much so, many gave their life for it, or were wounded both physically and mentally. It’s a different world in the armed forces. We are all proud, dedicated, and willing to lay down our life for the protection of others. But it’s a good feeling, it’s something only those who serve can understand. The desire to be counted on to defend the USA with all they have. Hence the saying (All gave some, Some gave all). This day doesn’t just belong to hot dogs and hamburgers and parties, It belongs to the men and women of our country who fought and died for it. And lest anyone forget, take a stroll thru a cemetery and see or place a flag on a veterans headstone. Visit a nursing home where there are many who are forgotten and thank them for there service. read about our national cemeteries and see all the brave men and women who gave their lives for us. And also as important thank anyone you see in uniform for their service and sacrifice. And in closing I would like to add that if your child can read, thank a teacher, and if he or she can read in English, thank a marine. Not that i’m biased about that

I am so very proud of our armed forces. A special thanks to my brother, Dudley Williams, Jr. He was a Marine and served in the Vietnam War. He was hurt by a grenade and scrap metal saving some of his comrades. He received the Purple Heart for his historic efforts. There are many more heroes like my brother but some didn’t make it home. Thanks God for our brave, selfless armed forces. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU11

I think they should put back i n the schools The Pledge Of Aligence, we did and we should as US leave there for all our Troops over seas that put their lives in danger thats the least we could do for them , besides pray for their safety and coming home .
