A Contest Giveaway Winning Jockey Puts the “Stakes” in Sweepstakes

And they’re off…to Washington!

Joe Crispin is no stranger to the Winner’s Circle – after all, he is one of the most celebrated jockeys competing in the Pacific Northwest. But on one sunny day in May, this Washington State resident experienced an unforgettable contest giveaway winning moment, and this time he didn’t have to get a speck of mud on him to receive his big cash sweepstakes prize award.

Joe was a Publishers Clearing House winner of a $1,000.00 sweepstakes prize and he couldn’t have been more surprised. “I’ve been entering for years,” said Joe, “I’m glad I never gave up.” The unexpected prize award certainly cheered up his wife and daughter, who were indoors all day fighting off colds. “Here we are winners, and I’m in my pajamas!” joked Mrs. Crispin. His daughter lit up when she saw the Prize Patrol van and Big Check, and almost immediately the neighborhood kids were on hand to be a part of the sweepstakes winning moment. “I can’t believe it – a thousand bucks!” one declared. Another one already had plans for the big cash prize, asking, “How many video games can you buy for a thousand dollars?”

The exciting contest giveaway winning news certainly led to smiles all around, and the Crispins invited me and my PCH Prize Patrol partner Cristina into their home. The walls of their living room were covered with stunning photographs, paintings and awards highlighting Joe’s victories. Cristina and I were admittedly star-struck and asked for his autograph. Our lucky winner was extremely gracious, autographing sports cards for us and even giving us a few inside tips on who he thought would win the Preakness. He was right on the money – in more ways than one!
