I’m going to explain, but if you’ve been reading the blog long enough, you can probably guess the reason!
It’s really no surprise! The answer to the question: why does PCH take a “special early look” is that Publishers Clearing House is all about winning! We just love awarding Millionaire-making SuperPrizes and taking “Special Early Looks” from existing Giveaways enables us to give away even MORE money. When it comes to winning, MORE is definitely better.
In fact, Giveaway No. 4900 isn’t scheduled to end until early 2016. But, because of the numerous “special early look” events we’ve had, Publishers Clearing House has given away FOUR $1 Million SuperPrizes from Giveaway No. 4900 so far.
In each case, there was no match to the winning number when we took the “special early look”, so we were unable to award the top prize. Alternatively, we held a second-chance drawing for a $1 Million prize. You might say that’s “a million times better” than state lotteries that simply don’t award a prize if there’s no match to the winning number.
