Does PCH Contact Major Prize Winners in Advance?

Greetings, fans and friends!

I love reading your PCHblog comments! And here’s a question that I see often on the blog:

Does PCH contact major prize winners in advance?

The answer, of course, is NO. Major prize winners are never contacted in advance. Publishers Clearing House notifies winners of our big SuperPrize awards by sending the Prize Patrol to surprise them in person!  Never via email, phone, mail or social media.  If you’re a major prize winner, the PCH Prize Patrol will show up at your door with flowers, balloons, champagne and a “Big Check” ― just like you see on TV! Smaller prizes are sent via Express mail or Overnight Delivery.

In fact, PCH Prize Patrol Elite member Danielle Lam has a special video where she tells our fans that major prize winners are never contacted in advance:

Now that you know that PCH never contacts major prize winners in advance, you might ask another question I often see in our blog comments:

Someone called me (or emailed me, sent me a letter, or told me through Social Media) that I won a PCH prize – and then they stated that in order to claim it, I need to send them money. Do I ever have to pay to claim a PCH prize?

The answer to this question is NO! You never have to pay to claim a PCH prize, and if someone asks you to do so, they are not from the real Publishers Clearing House!

At PCH we NEVER ask for money from our winners!  Remember, the winning is always free! So if you get a phone call, Social Media message or anything in the mail about winning, but in order to claim your prize you are asked to send money – for any reason – STOP!   It is a SCAM!

So, to recap, does PCH contact major prize winners in advance?

The answer is: NO

And do you have to pay to claim a PCH prize?

Again, the answer is: NO

Now here’s a question to which the answer is a solid “YES”: Could you become the lucky winner of $7,000 A Week For Life on April 28th?

YES, you absolutely could become our next big SuperPrize winner!  All you need to do is enter!

Good luck!

  3. So, who is Patrick Anderson, supposedly, from PCH at Phone number 646-###-#### had his secretary call me to informing me that I won $5.5 Million dollars, a brand new Mercedes Benz, and $4700 dollars a month for life! Probably a Scammer right! The funny thing is he didn’t ask me to send money or anything so mundane! I tried to reverse lookup the number but haven’t received any information on it yet! Maybe PCH will have better luck! I do have the phone message that she called me with, if anyone cares! otherwise I will wait for the Prize Patrol to show up with my check! Ha, Ha, the joke is on me and Publishers Clearing House! Even though I have the phone message recorded on my cell phone(Maybe the cops will listen to it.) or someone at PCH that gives a damn!
So, tell Danielle that she if full of —- if PCH does call people that they won a super prize!

  6. Just got a call from a scam Publisher’s Clearing House; telling me I just won second place in the PCH Sweepstake. Now, knowing that PCH never call winners, I just listened to him rant abour going to CVS or Walmart to purchase a Vanalla Card as a means to be registered to receive my 2,000,000.00 dollars second place prize. So I told him PCH does not require their winners to do that, He immedialy changed his tune and had to go before delivering my prize. telling if I am not interested in winning , he could no longer talk to me.

  7. Received call today advising me about winning PCH prize of $1,900,000. ($7,000/wk for life carrying on to beneficiary) Instructed me to go to Walgreens, CVS or others to purchase a $499.00 My Vanilla gift card. Instructed to call him from parking lot when I got there. I didn’t go!

He is suppose to come by tomorrow morning to exchange receipt for final paperwork

    1. Hello Danna, I am really happy that you knew that it was not the real PCH who contacted you! We never notify major winners over the phone or through standard mail, email or Facebook. We would really appreciate it if you would send us the details of this scam call you received. Please complete a Scam Incident Report here: http://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH.
