What Happens If I Win and I’m Not Home?

One of the most frequent questions we get asked here at Publishers Clearing House is “What happens If I Win and I’m Not Home?” Because this is SUCH an important question, we had the PCH Video Group put together a new video to answer it for you. It’s part of our new “PCH CHAT” series staring Howie, and the Prize Patrol! Watch below to find out what happens.

As Danielle and Todd explained in the video, if the winner isn’t home, the Prize Patrol does NOT give the prize to someone else. What they will do is WAIT for the winner to come home. Often times, they have to wait a really long time, which is what happened with Rory Bellamy, our $1 Million winner from November 2012, and Pam Barton. Can you believe the Prize Patrol waited a whole weekend for Pam?

In some cases, the Prize Patrol has even tracked winners down at work! Can you imagine getting surprised with a Big Check in person at your workplace? That’s what happened to our $10,000 winner Carol Copeland who the Prize Patrol surprised in front of a classroom full of students!

So remember everyone, the Prize Patrol ALWAYS finds their winner. So keep playing  and YOU could be next!

    1. Hello D Johnson, PCH has awarded over $585 million to winners from every state in the US! Check out this Facebook post of a recent $5,000 A Week For Life winner: https://bit.ly/February2022MajorPrizeWinner. Our winner selection process is completely random and unbiased; there’s no way to know ahead of time who our winner will be or what state they’ll live in. Every entry has the same chance of winning and every entry you submit is another chance that you could become a lucky winner. Keep trying and don’t give up. There are so many ways to submit an entry into our many exciting giveaways each day. You can check them all out here: http://bit.ly/Enter-A-PCH-Sweeps. Good luck to you and all.

  3. I think I am being targeted by a prize scam. this one is very elaborate including a phony Bank of America deposit in my name and an extensive automated menu system for the BOA.

Is there anyone named Peter Miller on the Prize Patrol?

    1. Hello John, Please report all contacts from scammers to PCH via this link: http://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH. PCH does partner with the Federal Trade Commission and we send all scam reports to them so please make sure you let us know anytime a scammer contacts you. Remember, the real PCH never notifies major prize winners via phone, standard mail, email, or social media, and we never ask winners to pay to claim their prize. You can see more Safety Tips here: https://bit.ly/FraudProtection2. Please be careful everyone; don’t become a scammer’s victim.

  4. I knew most of those answers. The one I needed to comment on is when I enter a sweepstakes and You need me to give a answer that I can’t give because years ago when I did give an answer to that question, I started to receive a lot of mail that I did not subscribe to such as magazines and a lot of other nonsense mail. Which I now don’t receive any more. I have also done Flip and Win so many times I can’t count anymore. So I have not won a thing in the years that I have played your games. I do use my tokens and of course have not won on any of them. Even though I am a VIP, the one thing I don’t like is Spectrum when that comes up. I also really don’t know why my age needs to be on the enroll form. I enjoy playing all of the games and some I am very good at and I like the person who is giving the comments on Great Game You made it etc. At this time I have become a Great Grandmother, first time to a baby that came early and presently in NCIU and doing great at this time. And I would like to eventually leave something to this little one for her future. Don’t know when she will be coming home but her due date was to be December 23, 2023 and she was born September 26, 2023. I pray a lot that the Good Lord will be with her in this time of need.

  5. Thanks 😊 so very much…it was very helpful, in so many ways… And about so many different, important? I did … had from Fawna Lokey…😁💯🙏

  6. Hey! I’m in it to win and I feel like you’ll be coming to see me soon! Hahah
What if I have moved out of state? What if I don’t have family to help? How do you guys reward someone with limited info?
I’m moving to Texas from Florida but I don’t have my new address yet. I’d hate to miss the Prize Patrol! My neighbors would take my mail if they could! If I win, look at my Facebook lol, contact my hubby! Some of us unfortunately don’t have trustworthy folks *weeps I look forward to meeting you guys one day!

    1. Hi Timothy! I’m sorry to tell you that was a scammer, not the real PCH. It’s important to remember that PCH does not contact winners of a major prize via phone, text, email, mail, or on Social Media. Also, if anyone asks you for money for any reason to claim a prize, you can be sure they’re a scammer. Please don’t give them any money, or any personal information! You can report them to us at this link: https://bit.ly/Report-Scam-To-PCH. We provide numerous videos, blogs, and tips to recognize these scammers here: https://info.pch.com/fraud-protection. Stay safe!

      1. If agents use “every means necessary to contact a winner” wouldn’t that be by phone, text and E-mail? Wouldn’t that be preferable by both parties?
I know my landlady would not be happy about people waiting, for me to come home.
PCH Account has that info. If a person has already agreed to receive communique from PCH why wouldn’t you use that to contact them?
